Megloman, have you even watched the show?

If you have watched every single episode, and yet you still "don't get it"... I suggest you stop. It doesn't seem to be making you very happy.

Is anyone else reminded of the outstanding 1984 anime feature MACROSS: DO , YOU REMEMBER LOVE (and the 1982 series that spawned it)? Space Folding FTL drives, "dog fights" that obey zero G physics (more or less), missiles and bullets instead of ray guns, a lack of none-sensical 3-D star fields, a universe not over crowded with "aliens of the week", and most importantly, a large cast of likable characters in a carefully unfolding plot that is more rewarding the more you watch it. The early GUNDAM is also brought to mind.

There was a live action Gundam movie made. I think it was made in the US, too.
It was horrid.
It's called Gundam:Savior, I think.

I'm too tired and it's too late for me to properly go into all the ways the UK version is better right now so I'll just end this by saying "dude, no way are the US drums more powerful or emotional than the UK ones!! The UK drums are waaaaay more powerful and exciting!"

True about all of the actors doing an insanley good job especially Edward James Olmos as the captain. The others, especially his son Lee, Starbuck and the president are very good and the person who plays Number Six is just seductively scary especially when she plays about in Baltar's head.
