^In some cases I'd be inclined to agree with you. But in this case, a depth of darkness and murk works wonders in covering up for a very obvious sound stage that the final battle takes place on.

Regarding the note about cropping the little G's glowing eyes: you might want to leave those in, because that little scene alludes to Baby's reaction to stress and his "calls" for help. Given the drastic visual changes the little guy's gone through, the eyes are about the only clue that it's supposed to be the same kaiju.
Does anyone else listen to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" and think of "Save the Earth?"

To be honest with Little Godzilla in the movie, it's hard to "cut the cheese." I'd say a successful fan edit would be the removal of that guys ass. I think I watched GvsSG once and have never watched it again.
