What, you're not an apologist? Oh, sorry. Well, to be clear, I didn't "lose my inner child". My friends who did not like it did not, as far as I can see, "lose their inner child". Those of us who did not like it thought it was "a bad movie". No one said it had to be serious. We just didn't want it to "suck". :D

That is what has seemed to me to be the point. I HAVEN'T seen it but it sounds like the movie just wasn't very good. Nothing to do with seriousness.

Wow that's too bad from what it sounds like this film was horribly rushed. I will see it for Godzilla and take the rest with a grain of salt.

This reviewer liked it--scroll down a bit. I am not going to translate it, but it got five stars and it was called "Splendid"...like a Hong Kong [action] movie...
