Yes, Bryan Cranston lends this picture street cred, and he has some mainstream recognition.
But the name value I was referring to was Godzilla. That's a definable, recognizable brand with 60 years of history (good and bad) behind it, which is something Pacific Rim, however good a movie it may have been, simply couldn't muster.
But as "The Lone Ranger" proved, your movie still has to have appeal beyond name value. Which, again, I trust "Godzilla" will.
