Apparently you can indroduce chapter stops with DVDauthorGUI itself.
I clicked on "chapters" and a new window popped up. Now i could set chapter stops manually while the movie ran in media-player or let the program set a chapter stop every few minutes. I choose to have chapters every 10min.
The next thing i tried is to make the subtitles smaller. I think thery're a little bit too big and sometimes cover the bottom part of the picture so i changed the font size from 28 (default) to 22.

The result of all this was a new error message after 1h of authoring....
"**ERROR: [???] Can't find next AC3 frame: @ 97775104 we have 0000 - broken bit-stream? "

Man...why can't these things simply work?!?
I'm gonna play around with the options some more - would be nice to have some chapters and smaller subs.

If you watch the dvd on a tv they appear below the video and look fine. On my LCD they are partially overlayed on the movie and look jagged for some reason.

I strongly recommend DVDLabPro over DVDAuthor. Though, I couldn't really include it in the guide since it's not freeware. You'll need to obtain it by "other means".

Why not include it in the guide? I mean, it's a fantastic piece of software and there is absolutely no need to obtain it by "other means" since you can simply order it online at http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/.

Quote: We all hope this software will become popular for its power and low price. Many hours were spent on each detail which is sort of our "trademark" if you know other Mediahance software. We are planning to reinvest all the money from registrations to enhancing it much further. There are many future plans for enhancements: multiple audio streams, subtitle editing and multi-angles. That means with your help we can make the best authoring software around.

That sounds like a problem with the audio (AC3).

Because it's very complicated stuff and many aspects of it are not well documented for various reasons.

Well looks like I'm going to have to get a new DVD-Burner. I got a response from Nero today and they told me to upgrade my firmware :?.

I think I'm going to try to format my computer and see if that helps, if not any suggestions for DVD-Burners? One with Dual-Layer support is prefered

[quote="gvamp"]Is this firmware reliable Aaron? Do you use it personally?[/quote

I wouldn't reccommend it if I didn't :) There are different versions of the firmware for each NEC drive and done by a few different people so choosing one can be confusing at first since each one offers different functions, etc. I would read the herrie.org forums, read up on them and ask questions.
