Its $76 million domestic take, while certainly underperforming, isn't a bomb. If that qualifies as a bomb, then so does Superman Returns and King Kong.

Like I said, you can't look at just domestic grosses anymore. Knight and Day disappointed here, but made $261,930,404 worldwide.

The reason? Tom Cruise is a HUGE international star. He can get away with movies that underperform stateside because they make so much worldwide. Even though the "death" of Tom Cruise's domestic box office clout has, as usual, been greatly exaggerated by the media.

And do you know who else the rest of the world loves...James Cameron!

if a movie making $200 million is a studio's biggest success of the year, they had a horrible year.

even if said movie cost $1 to make...

even if that $200 million was PURE PROFIT, Inception (and I'm sure like 10 other movies) alone still earned more profits...
