Toho has provided information and images for their live action feature film YOUR OWN QUIZ (君のクイズ, Kimi no Kuizu), which opens in Japanese cinemas this Friday, May 15th.

Introduction

Widely hailed by top creators across various fields—including author Kotaro Isaka (Bullet Train) and producer Nobuyuki Sakuma (GOD TONGUE: KISS PRESSURE GAME THE MOVIE)—Satoshi Ogawa's masterpiece mystery novel, Your Own Quiz, has received a live-action film adaptation.

The setting: the live-broadcast finals of a quiz show with a grand prize of 10 million yen. The phenomenon: an inexplicable miracle known as the "Zero-Character Answer." How did the quiz show champion manage to answer the question correctly without hearing a single letter of the prompts?

Directed by Kohei Yoshino (HAKEN ANIME!, *The Silent Service* film series), the movie employs stunning VFX techniques to stylishly visualize the labyrinth of thoughts unfolding within a quiz player's mind. Starring Tomoya Nakamura (THE SILENT SERVICE) alongside a powerhouse ensemble of actors—including Ryunosuke Kamiki (GODZILLA MINUS ONE) and Tsuyoshi Muro (UNDER NINJA)—this production brings to life a superb "quiz mystery" where intellect and passion collide.

Story

The finals of the Q-1 GRAND PRIX—a live television quiz show where contestants compete a grand prize of 10 million yen.
With the eyes of the entire nation fixed upon them, Reo Mishima (Tomoya Nakamura)—the "Absolute Monarch of the Quiz World"—and Kizuna Honjo (Ryunosuke Kamiki)—"The Man Who Has Memorized the Entire World"—stand neck-and-neck, each just one question away from victory.

Then comes the final challenge: a buzzer quiz.
Amidst the palpable tension, Honjo slams the buzzer before a single letter of the question has been read.
As the venue erupts in astonishment, he—against all odds—correctly identifies the answer and claims the title of champion.

How could he possibly have answered correctly without hearing a single word of the question?
Was it a fix? A trick? Or perhaps magic?
Mishima sets out to tackle this unprecedented mystery—this "ultimate quiz."

As the mystery deepens, every viewer becomes a “participant” in the game.
