If that was Godzilla Jr. I have to look at the film from an entirely different perspective.
That would mean Mothra's backstory included both Battra and Gigan as ancient foes.
The futurians design for King Ghidorah finds its origins in Kaiser Ghidorah and possibly whatever cells are left over from the Monster X battle (this is very similar toho's abandoned sequel to GvKG where he would be a more powerful space monster).
Gotengo was pretty much the final embodiment of the Super X, perfecting the freezing ray from Super X III, with more passenger space than Mechagodzilla and Moguera.
There was another Rodan Egg on Birth Island? Or did he also come back to life when Godzilla died, and maybe some of his energy went to Jr. the part he got from Rodan reformed into Rodan minus the ray which was still with Jr. who uses the hyper ray to destroy Kaiser?
I always felt Godzilla's overuse of that ray contributed directly to his condition in Destroyer, which is why he only used it as a finishing move when he first got it.
Perhaps Angilas was in an egg from birth Island since Rodan's ancestors gathered Godzillasaurus eggs and may have taken in ankylasaurus etc who would have been mutated from radiation.
Mechagodzilla (and even Super MechaGodzilla) has already appeared in this timeline so bringing him back would have been completely redundant, Mogera (who IMO was superior to MG but inferior to SMG) likewise.
The hesei timeline now includes aliens, futurians, psychics, superhumans, magic (or whatever the heck Minya does to grow..I will rewatch it when my sony bluray comes), and approximately 20+ Kaiju (minus the stock footage in the intro).
Mothra finally returned to earth and grew a bit, about 5,000 tons, 7 meters longer and an additional 40 meter wingspan. Very different from her size in 4/5 of the other films she showed up in the last 20 years. GMK she was close though bigger in some ways, so the hesei version works.
ANyway I like this idea, just kind of wonder if its canon.
