I think the series has been devoid of that kind of chemistry pretty much all through the millenium movies except for GMK and maybe a little in G 2000 (the reporter chick and her interactions before she went through 'character development' *snicker* and got all deep and profound).
It's that old school interaction that makes a movies like Godzilla's Revenge or Atragon so damn watchable!!
