I watched the show as a kid, also before the Burton movie came out and never thought it was all that great. It was really the only option I had for a Batman TV show though at the time, so I dealt with it.

Just picked up Doctor Who Series 8 on BD. Going to pick up the 50th anniversary special as well as Time of the Doctor soon. For some reason none of the complete series sets include those two. :\

I bought that complete series BD set when that came out with Series 1-7 plus bonus feature disc. So I have all the seasons basically. I have no issue buying those two specials separtly they're fairly cheap. Hell Time of the Doctor is only $12 on Amazon right now and the 50th Anniversary special is just under $20.

With Prime Days starting soon I'll see if they drop a little lower, if not then next check I'll pick them up. Series 9 I'll just get when that goes down in price a bit more

Glad you found it. Hopefully its not one of the older defective copies however You may want to give it a watch when you have a chance. I mean Discotek was amazing about replacing it, no questions asked, but that was a long time ago before it was OOP.

Okay, so maybe I did get a defective copy as there were black bars on all four sides?

The ScreamFactory Dog Soldiers BD was on sale on Amazon for like $12 so I picked that up. Sadly it's on back order so I won't get it for a few weeks.

Actually, I feel like it's one of the releases that's taken a little longer in recent memory. Logan was out like 2 months after it hit theaters.

Well, I don't think it is any accident that Legendary/WB released the blu-ray the same week as Comic-Con. They are really promoting this thing down there (probably in lieu of lack of any Monsterverse news this year).

Kino is currently running a sale on Blu-rays and DVDs through August 6th, with free US shipping on orders above $50 ($100 for Canadians). The prices are cheaper than what Amazon has offered in the past. I ordered Ape, One Million Years, B.C., The Land That Time Forgot, The People That Time Forgot, At the Earth's Core, and War-Gods of the Deep.

^ Nice, I had thought it had been on BR for a while. Also, I never thought about it, but I'm not sure if critically that statement would stick, but I'll 100% agree that Mask of the Phantasm is the Batman film I enjoy the most (and yes It truly is a film). I still kick myself for not seeing it in the theater in December of 1993. I remember a friend of mine was going on opening day (which happened to be 12/25, bad timing for me as I was 17 and still was obligated to meet with family on that day...) . and I figured...I'll see it "soon"...well I kid you not, the movie was gone from theaters in my area in less than 2 weeks! I was so upset. Thankfully it was on VHS not to long after, but man, that was akin to missing Transformers: The Movie (which thankfully I did see in theaters).

With all the *classic* rereleases coming out, even animation , I would hope this would get a second chance in the theater at some point, I would really love to see it on the big screen, especially now in HD.

well I obviously got Skull Island, and will be getting Shin Godzilla next week, but I've been trying to fill some holes in my HB collection.

ImageImage

Warner has been doing a ton of HB re-releases as part of their "Diamond Collection", but so far no Space Ghost, and that set being OOP is currently going for between $100-$150 on the 3rd party market...no thank you. WB needs to rerelease SG soon.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Target is running a 20% off all movies sale. My wife brought me home the Kong: Skull Island blu ray yesterday and we watched it last night. That's the third time I've seen it and this movie gets better every time!

Fwiw, at Target it comes out to $20 vs the $25 amazon is currently selling it for.

Well, unfortunately not everyone shares the same opinion as you and I on this particular subject. For sure I love Mask of The Phantasm, but as seen here: viewtopic.php?f=72&t=21726, and from what I gather according to box office numbers people prefer live-action to animation simply because "they are real people". It makes no sense to me, because I've always preferred animation when bringing comics to life, as its closer to the original form and not limited by the constraints of live-action film making. I had a vision 20 years ago of a fully animated Infinity Gauntlet/Infinity War film. Get the best Voice Actors, and best animators in Japan to do it, have it be 2-3 hours long, but it would not have been limited as we are now seeing in the film coming out next year

Now it is encouraging that more and more online poles I've seen on "Best Batman Film" are including things such as "Mask", "Red Hood", and "RotJ" - But at Best they are placed above the Schumaker films, but below all the others, at worst, they are not counted at all because "they are cartoons". Also Kevin Conroy is moving up the rankings as "Best Actor to Play Batman", but is still usually behind Keaton, Bale, and West, if considered at all. The disregard for animation is not as bad as it once was, but we still have a long way to go, unfortunately.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

This came today. Saving it for the weekend.

btw, the image on this cover is embossed, giving it a nice little 3D effect that's actually quite striking when you have the thing in your hand.
