The live stage performance ran from December 6-25, 2019 at the Shinbashi Enbujo theater in Tokyo’s Ginza district. Tickets for the shows sold out in a single same day. The kabuki show is based on Studio Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki’s 1982 manga series masterpiece Nausicaä of the Valley of the Windm which Mayazki adapted into a internationally acclaimed anime feature film in 1984. The live version presents all seven volumes of the manga, including major story elements that were not depicted in the
