Toho Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and images from DOLLHOUSE (ドールハウス, Dōruhausu), opening in Japanese cinemas on June 13th.
DOLLHOUSE recently won the grand prize at the Fantasporto International Film Festival in Porto, Portugal.
INTRODUCTION
The movie DOLLHOUSE is a 110-minute nonstop mystery thriller that top Japanese actor Masami Nagasawa (KINGDOM Series, SHIN ULTRAMAN) was eager to star in because of the interesting script.
The original story, script, and direction are by Shinobu Yaguchi, who has produced hit entertainment works such as WATERBOYS (ウォーターボーイズ, Uōtābōizu, 2001) and SWING GIRLS (スウィングガールズ , Suwingu Garuzu, 2004).
With his decades of directing experience, Yaguchi has created a thrilling story about a family being manipulated by a strange doll, with the added fun of a mystery for the audience to solve int an exciting film with a highlight every few minutes.
Everyone will be thrilled by the never-before-seen visual experience, and horrified by the surprising ending.
The cast is full of talented actors, including Masami Nagasawa and Koji Seto (Kamen Rider franchise, SADAKO 3D), who plays her husband.

SYNOPSIS
Yoshie Suzuki (Masami Nagasawa) and her husband Tadahiko (Koji Seto) lose their five-year-old daughter, Mei.
In the midst of her grief, Kae finds an adorable doll that looks just like Mei at an antique market. She buys the doll and cares for it, which helps her regain her strength.
Yoshie and Tadahiko have a second daughter, Mai. As the focus on their new baby, the couple lose interest in the doll.
When Mai turns five, she finds and starts playing with the doll. Suddently, a series of strange events start happening to the family. Yoshie and Tadahiko try to get rid of the doll, but no matter how many times they throw it away, it keeps coming back...!
What is the secret hidden in the doll? And what is the shocking truth that will be revealed?!
