The new manga Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey (ゴジラギャラクシーオデッセイ, Gojira Gyarakushī Odessei) will be serialized by publisher Akita Shoten in the magazine Young Champion (ヤングチャンピオン,Yangu Chanpion) starting with issue 12, on sale May 27th in Japan.

Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey is written and drawn by Ju Ishiguchi, mecha designer for anime, including SWORD ART ONLINE ALTERNATIVE: GUN GALE ONLINE (ソードアート・オンラインオルタナティブガンゲイル・オンライン, Sōdo Āto Onrain Orutanatibu: Gan Geiru Onrain, 2018), and writer/artist for the manga I’m the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire! (あたしは星間国家の英雄騎士！, Atashi wa Seikan Kokka no Eiyuu Kishi). Ishiguchi also designed the mecha for the Godzilla manga.

The Godzilla featured in Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey was designed by Shinji Nishikawa, a popular artist who created the monster designs for many of the Godzilla movies produced by Toho from 1989 to 2004, drew storyboards for Tsuburaya Productions' Ultraman series and designed monsters for the anime series SSSS.GRIDMAN (SSSS.グリッドマン, SSSS.Guriddoman, 2018). In 2024, he wrote and illustrated Godzilla: The Encyclopedia, a comprehensive guide to the monsters deisgns from the Godzilla movies and the animated series GODZILLA SINGULAR POINT (ゴジラ S.P ＜シンギュラポイント＞, Gojira Shingyura Pointo, 2021). Godzilla: The Encyclopedia is available in English from Titan Books.

The space monsters for the manga are designed by Hiroshi Maruyama, whose credits include GODZILLA AGAINST MECHAGODZILLA (ゴジラ×メカゴジラ, Gojira x Mekagojira, 2002) and the hero and monster designs for many of the Ultraman films and shows starting with the series ULTRAMAN TIGA (ウルトラマンティガ, Urutoraman Tiga.1996-97).

New issues of Young Champion are released on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.

Keita Takahashi, editor of Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey, told SciFi Japan that, "I'm glad to say that I've already received a lot of inquiries, even before the series has started. Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey has been produced for the domestic market, but we are still considering releasing it overseas. We will continue to explore the best options to ensure that many people both in Japan and overseas can enjoy the series, so we hope you will look forward to it."
