Toho Co., Ltd. has announced the Japanese theatrical release of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ worldwide box office smash GODZILLA VS. KONG (ゴジラvsコング, Gojira vs Kongu) will now begin on Friday, July 2nd. The Earth was devastated by the war of Titans. As mankind tries to rebuild, the special agency Monarch embarks on a dangerous mission into an unknown land and uncover clues to the origins of the giant monsters. As a countermeasure, Monarch and Apex, led by the teams of Dr. Nathan Lind (Alexander Skarsgård) and Dr. Ilene (Rebecca Hall), take Kong off of Skull Island to explore where the monsters’ roots lie.

The struggle for humanity’s survival will trigger the ultimate confrontation between Godzilla and Kong, and people will see the greatest clash in history. Jia is the only girl who can communicate with Kong, who is searching for his homeland. Meanwhile, Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), her friend Josh (Julian Dennison), and Bernie (Brian Tyree Henry), who espouses conspiracy theories about APEX, believe in Godzilla and work together in pursuit of the truth. Is there any hope for humankind? What are the secret thoughts and plans of Ren Serizawa (Shun Oguri), a researcher at Apex and the son of the late Dr. Ishiro Serizawa? The speculations of the people surrounding the monsters are complicated. Godzilla and Kong, are they on the side of humanity or a threat to humanity?
