So I guess NECA said at SDCC they will NOT be doing anyone beyond Godzilla despite having access to the other monsters. Guess it's back to my abusive husband Bandai.

Well so much for my whole, "I'm done with NECA" spiel. I just couldn't control myself when I came across him:



The sculpt is amazing, except, I think there is something wrong with his right arm. It can't bend more than like 20 degrees. Is this how it is supposed to look:



Oh, and the fire breath accessory can't be placed in his mouth at all. It just scratches against the teeth when I try to put it in.

I finally got NECA's Rodan and it's nice. I wish the wings could swing up past his back. Although the SHMA figure looks like it has better body articulation, and no need to swap heads. But neither have the greatest wing articulation. I honestly don't mind the hinged wings the 90s Rodan had and wish the wings on either of the figure could flap but the best we get is NECA being able to "fold" his wings. I still need to get that SHMA double pack though. Maybe next paycheck with all my holiday hours.

After getting both the NECA and SHMA G'62, I feel no need to double dip with Godzillas when I have the SHMA. Although I would jump on a new version of the NES repaint with the 64 body.

The Burning/Fire Godzilla is tempting, but again I'll probably be better off with the SHMA. But I might get the V2 for a poster version, but I'd probably need to modify the head so it can look up.

I just wonder if they are going to actually do more versions of Mothra and Rodan. I'd love it to get a Showa version of them.

I'm not collecting these, but when I see one in stores I can't help but pick up the boxes and kind of marvel at them. The packaging is spectacular!

For the first time this week, I actually had good luck with something. My Target still had the other 2 64s instock so I was able to get one that did NOT have two left upper arms. With that said, I am quite impressed with this figure. In fact, it might be my favorite Godzilla figure to date. He looks as menacing as he does in the movie and the articulation is nearly identical to that of the MonsterArts minus the weird triangular cuts on the side and I can move the body back far enough to close the spine gappage if I want to. Though, I must admit, the gappage doesn't bother me as much as it does on the MonsterArt, but that could just be because as I said, I can close it if I so desire. The tail is fantastic and there is so much detail put into the dude. I wish NECA would redo the 54 Godzilla entirely. Of course, I also wish NECA would at least give us a Mothra to go with him, but the 92 MonsterArts version will have to do (and the small ass Revoltech version). The pictures NECA has released for this guy online and in the box do not do him justice at all.

Oh, and I finally took some pictures of Godzilla 62 that I never got around to doing earlier in the year.

.... damn it... the need to double dip is growing on me. So I miiiight get this one too. Depends on how much I have left after bills and Christmas gifts this check.

So all the G'64 talk got me to pick it up and then I got the other 3 with Christmas cash. Burning Godzilla's fins are a tad Kraft Mac and Cheese colored but that's the only real detractor to that figure.

I plan on modding Fire breath so that it can aim upwards.

I've been seeing these everywhere. Target had a ton in the new packaging, Walmart had a few of the old ones. I've been tempted to pick up the 54 at least but I honestly haven't been sold on any of these - beating a dead horse, but the sculpts can't help but seem off to me. They really don't hold a candle to NECA's other creature oriented lines (Alien/Predator, Gremlins, Pacific Rim, Ninja Turtles, etc.).
