Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

AMC Fear Fest has a whole bunch of Michael Myers, Chucky, and... err... Leprechaun:

And just like Frankenstein last year, Dracula has his own Monster of the Month promo:

Today we finished the first disc to Garo Season 1 and watched Treehouse of Horror IV.

After the failure of Halloween III, Moustapha Akkad made the decision to return the franchise to its roots and resurrect Michael despite him clearly being burned to death at the end of the second movie. Many praised this move as they felt Michael was the face of the Halloween franchise while others were disappointed that he decided to just rehash the same story over again like every horror sequel was doing at the time. Is Michael's return well worth the wait or should the world have ended at the hands of Silver Shamrock? Watch to find out.

oof. Halloween 4:The Return of Bloated Myers.

He's so stiff and pudgy in the movie. Why they made the stunt man wear a padded fat-suit is a mystery, but it looks awful. Plus they recast a Kirk mask to try and make it like the original, but it's a terrible lumpy zit covered mask with the eye-holes cut all wrong, and the weird neck extension.

..they never really did get another really nice mask again. One of the masks used in H20 looked pretty decent,..and the 'pre-rot' mask that Rob Zombie used (modeled after the original) looked pretty decent. The rotted mask looked pretty cool too, actually. It still had that 'Kirk' look to it also.

I'm very curious to see what mask John Carpenter uses for Halloween 2018. Very much hoping they try and get something as similar to the original as possible. I know Jamie Lee Curtis will be in that one and they're pretending it's the sequel to the original and that pt 2 and up never happened. So it's a direct sequel to 1978's Halloween,..40 years later.

Plus by erasing pt 2, that means Jamie Lee is no longer Michael's sister, so that will be interesting.

It's going to be neat seeing Carpenter and Curtis working together again to make a Halloween movie.

^4 is one I enjoy as a slasher movie, for what it is...though I agree the mask never wound up looking quite as good as the original. The H20 masks needed to black out the eyes to work better...or just have better lighting in the movie in general. The first two movies have SUCH amazing lighting, it's a shame the series never got back on that track again, because that was what made so much of the menace of The Shape.

The Zombie film masks looked great to me.

As for ignoring Laurie as Michael's sister. GOOD. That's been a thorn in the franchise's side ever since it was introduced.
Gills.
