I think, as fans, we WANT and EXPECT more. In a week, I've seen the trailer playing in a little display in a book store, a poster in a 7-11 that also sold Godzilla ramen cups, another store had Godzilla spicy rice crackers, a Tamashii Nations display featuring the trailer on a large screen...when I think about it, that's more than I see for a regular movie in the US. (Star Wars doesn't count as a regular movie - the marketing for that was absolutely overboard).
With the giant footprints and the statues going around that you can take pictures with, maybe the bulk of the advertising campaign is over? Like, if you care about it, you know when it's coming out, and if you don't know by now, you probably aren't interested anyway?
I guess, in sum, I (we) are just hoping for a whole lot more than there is, but that doesn't mean that there isn't enough.
