I'm somewhere with klen on this one.

Gamera GOTU
Godzilla KOTM
Godzilla vs Biollante
Rodan
PacRim
Man of Steel
Signs
Harry Potter
Superman Returns
War of the Worlds 2005
Close Encounters
Godzilla 2014
Godzilla 1985
Godzilla 2000
Dark Knight Rises
Prometheus

I don't see the point in riffing ANY of those movies, and they are all apparently "Front-runners" for riffing. Does each one of those movies have a part or a sequence that could be made fun of? Absolutely. Does that necessitate a feature-length comedy commentary? Not at all.

The beauty of MST3K was riffing on movies a lot of people had never even seen or heard of, and movies that were through-and-through bad or over-the-top ridiculous to boot.
I like Super Inframan, but something that batsh*t insane is absolutely RIPE for riffing. Hell, I went to a screening and the sound cut out and a couple people just threw down a couple quick quips and it was pretty hilarious.
MMPR: The Movie? Otto Von Ooze or whatever that guy's name is whose evil plan is to turn all teens into jerks? That's an amazing riff idea.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind? What are they just gonna tread water until they get to the part where he's playing with potatoes?
Gills.

Well, they've created a successful comedy career, written books, worked for radio, worked in TV, written in Hollywood...so I guess "worthwhile" is a matter of preference.

And also, that's honestly one of the worst challenges that I hate seeing thrown at people who criticize: "Let's see YOU do better."
I can think something is terrible even though I can't do better. A car that explodes when you turn it on is a terrible thing, but I don't know that I could create a better car. A terrible movie can be readily evident, even if I couldn't make a better one.

I think it's really odd that so many people seem to want King of the Monsters, Rodan, or Gamera, Guardian of the Universe riffed; then again, maybe the problem is these titles are simply much more recognized than the entries that are legitimately trashy.

Prometheus, Man of Steel, and The Dark Knight Rises seem to be fairly divisive films from what I've read, so I'm not surprised to see those.

Shout has made a habit of announcing the lineup of the next MST3K set on the release day for the current set, but this time they've announced that the lineup will be released later than usual.

What's happening? There's just under 40 episodes left to be released on home video. Half of those are movies owned by companies they have a relationship with or are in the public domain - so those will almost certainly be easy to clear for release. Shout must be going after one of the few companies that have held out for all these years. Can't wait to see what comes of it!

So yeah, apparently Dr Forester and TV's Frank are going to live Riff God's Not Dead at the 2015 American Atheists National Convention. Glad they're actually getting some MST alumni, because if they didn't it's just be a pale imitation at best and mean spirited and unfunny at worst.

I'd be interested in purchasing an audio recording of that if it becomes available, but wish they had a third. Even on Rifftrax, it felt like there was something missing even when it was Kevin and Mike.

But in all honesty I kind of didn't see this coming. I thought that if any of them (Rifftrax or whatever it is Joel and Co are doing) were to do a religious movie, other than Battlefield Earth, would be something like the or .

I riffed hardcore on Godzilla vs. Destroyah at G-Fest last year.
I suppose it depends on the Godzilla movie, but some of them, I just sort of can't help myself.

Off to see The Room get Rifftraxed!

Also, a nicer, nearer theater has started doing the Fathom Events and I don't have to travel way across town anymore!

The riffing during the stairway sex scene was of the best bits they've ever done, and I'm talking the MST years too.

Am I that used to bad movies that I didn't find "The Room" quite as awful as everyone said?

Okay, follow me here:

- Besides Jim and Joel, apparently no one else is getting royalties from MST3K. Cast members have lamented this fact.
- Rifftrax.com is now offering MST3K episodes, along with a comment that this is the first time post-MST that Mike, Kevin, and Bill will profit from the show
- Best Brains Inc. is now no more! The company is now "Consolidated Puppets Incorporated"
- Joel tweeted that in his upcoming AMA we'll learn more about Turkey Day 2015 and *drumroll* the future of MST3K

... maybe nothing, maybe a whole lot of something?
