i like the Orga ship and Larva birth figures from CAST, but i never understood why they put the plastic hanger on them

I vaguely remember hearing something about it being a way to get around the licensing stranglehold bandai has on Godzilla figure production. I want to say it lets them claim they are Christmas ornaments of all things.

Yeah, that's it, by marketing them as ornaments Iwakura then CAST was able to do all of the Toho figures that they have. Otherwise they'd be too similar to High Grade figures or the other candy toy figures Bandai used to put out and currently does way less often. None of their Daiei stuff had the same restriction.

Looks like those Funko Burning Godzillas sold out in a manner of days! Hopefully they make variations of the Hikari version.

Up for preorder is the Monster Zero Godzilla 1965 statue by Chikyu-Boueigun.

I was interested in the Hikari figure since i greatly preferred the sculpt to the standard Funko, but during the NYCC, on ebay they were being sold for $160+ and for the most part still are. I just can't see dropping that kind of money on Funko even if it is limited (and this is limited to 888 pieces, which isn't that small of a run in the G arena)

I've had mixed results on Chikyu-Boueigun, but their Baragon is easily a top contender for my figure of the year
