I thought that had been the plan all along? (Not being snarky, just thought I'd heard that for quite a while).

Hulk was going to have a role in the film but they decided to cut him out.

I think it's for the better that Hulk is out.

After friction over the budget on 'Captain America: Civil War,' the studio's film guru threatened to leave Marvel until Disney CEO Bob Iger intervened with a new plan.

I know "Ken Burns' Captain America: Civil War" jokes petered out after the initial announcement for this film, but as its release approaches I believe there will be a resurgence. I think we should all be working on our own "Ken Burns' Captain America: Civil War" jokes to prepare.

I was very worried that this film would forget the Bucky storyline and become, essentially, Avengers 3. So this trailer makes me happy, as it seems to be a natural continuation of the Cap story that's just roped in a bunch of the other heroes.

Looks like the line:

Cap: Sorry Tony, you know I wouldn't do this if I had no other choice, but he's my friend
Tony: So was I

Is tugging at a lot of heart strings. The potential sign of a good movie

A lot of people are asking "Where is Spider-Man", I don't think they realize how very little a role Peter Parker will play in this film. In fact, to my relief, it seems to be a VERY Captain America oriented story. With Cap, Bucky, & Falcon being the major players, and all the rest probably having minimal screen time. I know this trailer makes Iron Man out to be the "Bad Guy", but we know Baron Zemo is out there, as well as Crossbones, those are the characters I want to see images of.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

OK...so the latest trailer was released today (sorry I cannot link to it at work, but just do a YouTube search).

Anyway... It shows a few more details and of course Spider-Man is revealed for the first time (the very last moment in the trailer btw...so wait for it). All the people nerdgasming online however about a 2 second shot and single line of dialogue (..."Hey Everyone") seems a little blown out of proportion.

Am I excited for this movie? -Sure-. Will I see it on opening day? -I hope so-, but still... I think some people need to dial their excitement down a notch.

Honestly I am not sure how I feel about Spider-Man. I actually liked the costumes of both the Tobey MacGuire Trilogy, as well as the Andrew Garfield ASM films. Having Spidey's eyes able to actually "squint" and change size as he does in the comics/cartoons was never something I felt was missing in the films. But thanks to the amazing world of CG and Marvel/Disneys deep pockets, that's what we are getting. Of course the film is still nearly 2 months away, and what we say may not yet be "final", but still, I am not going to wet myself over this reveal. I'm not going to be overly critical either, just trying to bring balance to a perceived overreaction.

It looks very John Romita Sr. ... with a touch of Japanese Spider-Man, right? I don't know how I feel about the expandable irises on the mask (no doubt Stark offered up some high tech improvements on whatever DIY number Peter had been wearing).

Oh, totally agree, and I'm sure this is going to be an awesome film. But this just begs the questions... Are they going for "real world" feel or "comic book" feel? If Spider-Man is going to have his "squinty" eyes to reflect the original comics, then fine. But then why doesn't Black Panther or any other hooded character do this? In the original comics characters with metal masks (Dr. Doom , Iron Man) had lip movements , smiles, frowns etc..from their mouth plates, why not have that? -And if your saying to yourself- Oh that's ridiculous, ... to me its the same either way. have comic-bookish costume movement across the board, or not at all.

Comics do both, so why can't the movies?

Plus, it's not like these movies are truly realistic to begin with. I mean, we're talking about movies that feature gods, men who wear suits that can fly, a man that took drugs to get super strength and then was frozen in ice for decades, a man that can transform into a beast when he gets mad, people wearing a suit that lets them shrink, robots with individuality, magicians, and aliens. NONE OF IT IS REALISTIC!! So I don't see why Spider-Man's eyes being able to move is an issue. If that ends up being the only thing wrong Civil War, then there is nothing to complain about at all.

I guess I just don't see the consistency:

I say: -Gee Spider-Mans eyes move...that's odd
You Say: That's to homage the original comics
I say: The original comics also have Iron Man smile & frown
You say: Why cant we have it both ways...

:?

I suppose my classic notion is of Peter hunched over a sewing machine, making or repairing his costume. I suppose none of the movie costumes have supported that, but I think all have been pretty good.
