I'm kind of in shock knowing that the recent NECA nes figure is already listed as "discontinued". I really hope they do the 1968 and 1975 suit. Those are the only two suit I'm waiting for. That's if they ever get to it.

I'm actually quite surprised we haven't see super charged translucent blue Godzilla and a special under water colored Godzilla yet. I expected NECA to milk the 14 mold to death by now.

Essentially for an 84 he took the 84 head, put it on a 94 body and turned the fins around. For an 89 he took the 94 head and put it on an 84 and turned the fins around. The finishing touch which really makes these all pop is the flat repaint he used. WOW! That right there makes a HUGE difference. But its still surprising how nice the head swap and fin reversals look. Very easy for NECA to do too.

interesting insight. If Burning G sold well (i dont know anyone that got one) then G'54 shouldn't have any problem selling well.

All the more reason to buy the 54 figure I guess. I wonder what they'd go for next though. A super-poseable Goji '68 would be awesomesauce... well, any Showa-era suit would be awesomesauce...

I want the megarogoji suit most of all for an shma figure. That suit doesn't get enough love IMO as far as figures are concerned.

54 Neca arrived today.

I'm going to be that guy. I've watched some youtube reviews and everyone seems to love the 54. I do really like it. The mold detail and articulation is simply fantastic. However, I don't like the deco. They went full on with a black and white motiff. I might even be one of the few, but I would have liked to have seen some color in this mold. The mouth area, teeth and tongue, are all in a black and white deco, ie: shades of gray. By itself, it looks great, but when you put it aside of the other NECA figures, the black and white asethetic kind of sticks out. I realize that this is a selling point for most people. Me, I would have liked some color in mouth area, white-ish teeh, red-ish tongue.

That said, the deco seems to be the most flat of all the NECA figures, which is a good thing, IMO. I'm not a fan of the shiny.

My TRU finally got him in:





















For the most part he is awesome. In fact, he makes it hard to look at NECA's 84 toy now. Unfortunately, I don't like that they colored his tongue in grey instead of red and the tail is way too short. Not to mention it doesn't actually lock into the socket, so if you bend it too far, it just slides out, very annoying. Nevertheless, this is just down right amazing and NECA needs to show off their next toy asap! Third time really was the charm for them when it came to the Jp Godzillas because they nailed him out of the park.

Oh yeah, one really weird thing, he is taller than all of the MonsterArts Godzillas, which makes him look a bit out of place when they are all together, especially the 2000 one since they are supposed to be the same height. I won't even get into how much he towers over the 64 version.
