I kinda don't mind the idea of adding a team in each conference to the playoffs. Still give the #1 overall seed the bye, but the first week has 6 games instead of 4. It's not something I'm rabidly opposed to seeing happen.

I'm not wildly in favor of it, either, but I've heard worse ideas.


With Matt Forte able to keep pace with Mark Ingram last night, my dad beat my most hated team in our fantasy football league and now the championship game is set: Me vs. My Dad. It's the first time in league history (4 prior seasons) that we face each other in the playoffs at all. My dad was runner-up in the league's inaugural season, I won the second season.

Pretty terrible start to the football week today.

The Cowboys got one step closer to the playoffs.
The Bills got no help from San Francisco.
Eddie Royal racked up a butt ton of points against me in the fantasy football championship game.

I'd be so pissed about this weekend of football if I hadn't won my fantasy football championship and $500.

Other than that, the NFL didn't happen this weekend as far as I'm concerned. F***ing Bills...

My Bengals have two games left...and both are against good teams AND in Primetime. We suck in Primetime. I mean, we really suck. I could very easily see the Bengals going 0-2 and missing the playoffs. I hope not, but I could see it.

Well, my Bengals are gonna be Bengals. I suppose I can make some excuses because of the injuries, but at this point most teams are at least banged up and have lost some players along the way. Until the Bengals prove otherwise, It's really hard to trust them in the post season. The Bengals are often undisciplined and fail to manage the clock in key situations. It's really frustrating to be a fan when you have have the talent to win but fail to show up in big games.

Of the teams left, I would be happy if the Colts/Broncos/Packers/Carolina win the Superbowl. It's hard to root for the Pats/Ravens/Cowboys and Seattle won last year.

As much as I love and believe in my Boys, I think their season comes to an end this coming Sunday. But even with a potential loss at Green Bay, it's still been a very successful season. That said, I will not be surprised if and when they lose, but I will also not be completely shocked if they win either. 8-0 on the road is nothing to sneeze at.

I can take my Boys losing under football circumstances, but to lose like that?!?! Uh uh. That was a catch! Under these current NFL rules it wasn't. But Dez took two steps and stretched for the goal line on his third step. That was a completed pass. Still a very good season from my Boys and the next few years are bright, but they should very well be getting ready to play Seattle. They finally need to tweak or get rid of that Calvin Johnson Rule in the offseason.

Not a catch. Not under any rule in NFL history. The rules have been tweaked and modified so much to help offenses, that the only reason this is being debated is that the NFL wants EVERYTHING to be a catch. Ball hits the GROUND and pops up out of his hands into the air. No catch. Sorry, catch the ball next time instead of getting greedy and reaching forward for the TD. I'd say lesson learned, but Dez will never learn.

Sorry man, I disagree, as well as 90 percent of the nation. That was a catch. One foot, two foot down, possession, catch. Odell Beckham, Dale Jr., Lebron, Adam Schefter, actors, etc., the list goes on, that was a catch. That same referee blew it again. Sad to see a call REALLY decide a playoff game. I've been watching this sport for 37 years now. Another bad call. When you have current and former NFL players tweeting and posting that it was in fact a catch, you know it was. Except for the NFL who continues to take FOOTBALL out of football. Maybe it's karma, but Cowboys Nation was robbed.

I can see both sides of the argument, but here is probably the best angle we have of the catch -



It looks like the ground helps him catch the ball at the end, and ultimately that is why it was reversed. When I saw it in real time I thought it was a catch, but if the ball touches the ground (which is does) and then pops out (which is does)...then the refs have to make that call. The rule would need to be altered a bit for that to be a clear catch. It sucks to have so much riding on one play.

That doesn't even show the part where the ball isn't touching him at ALL a few moments later.






It hits the ground, without his hand being under it or in control, then it bounces up, leaves his arms and hangs for a second in mid-air with him not touching it.

The ball was in his possession when he took 3 steps. If anything, it should have been ruled down by contact at the one.
