So mine came in this weekend from barnes after numerous delays. Just started watching Sea Monster. Notice the dub is different from the one I grew up with (I'm guessing it was AIP). They really picked an annoying voice for the buzz cut dancer but otherwise its alot more tolerable than the hesei dubs. I typically prefer subs but this is fine enough for the background while I'm studying since I'm not fluent enough to follow the japanese without looking. There's only one english track on this one correct, not like what media blasters managed for DAM?

The images on this are amazing, and i'm seeing so many details on this I never saw. Scenes like them in the cave with the waterfall in the background, them jumping off the cliff, the sun through the clouds and even the gun in detail through the cage looks like this thing was filmed yesterday. Even the details on mothra I think I spotted two different suis in this thing.

Wow so many blu-ray discs in so little time. GvBio from Echo Bridge, The Sony Hesei and Mire discs minus GMK and G2K, the animated series, Gamera showa collection. Now with these, Gorgo, Gamera Hesei collection, Godzilla 54, KKvG Gamera the Brave and Destroy all Monsters and these 3 that brings my collection to 15 Godzilla or over half the series on Blu, and another 2 pending when LegendGoji and Megalon are released on blu, and currently 28 monster movies on blu ray. Not really interested in getting the GINO blu ray though I hear its one of the first you can future proof for 4k. Fingers crossed that the rights on 85 revert next year so we can get a Criterion Co

I doubt Criterion will touch another G flick although I'd pay Criterion prices for them to give Rodan the treatment.

I could have sworn that I heard that they were only interested in Gojira/Godzilla KotM, regardless of the bad treatment the fans gave Criteron for using Kiryu-Goji in the pop out art. Even if that sold gangbusters and fans didn't crap on them for something that sounds like it came from on high from Toho, that's as far as Criterion would go with the series.

Watching G vs Gigan on blu-ray today, I enjoyed it more than I have for years. The Madman DVD had decent picture quality, but badly washed-out colour. Along with the major upgrade in detail, the blu-ray has vibrant colour while retaining natural skin tones. The movie's trademark huge explosions really pop. Also, considering this is one of the lower budget movies, I was pleasantly surprised that high definition brought out more detail in the effects scenes instead of revealing flaws. A few composite shots suffer, and the different colour timing of the stock footage is more obvious than ever, but the rest is a delight.

Kraken, please release more kaiju movies to this standard so I can throw more money at you.

I'd love to see Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (74) and Son Of Godzilla on Blu-Ray. Where are the rights for these movies right now anyway? Does Classic Media still have a hold of those rights?

Sony does not own the rights to any of the Sony films. Krakken got a hold of Gigan, Hedora and Sea Monster through Toho.

I really wish someone would release the other Showa Sony films on Blu Ray...Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla and Son of Godzilla would be must haves for me. :(

Might anyone have any intel on how well these 3 titles sold? I am hoping they may have done well enough that Kraken might consider licensing and releasing the Showa titles not currently represented on Blu Ray in the United States.
God is in the details.

Keith previously mentioned that Toho was in talks with a different distributor regarding the films Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.

To further this thought, is there a remote possibility that Classic Media could release Blu Rays of the Toho titles they released on DVD a few years back?
