Kick Ass 2- This was on HBO Go so I decided to give it a shot. It's alright but I think I prefer the first more I should rewatch the first one since I haven't seen it since it came out.

Apparently any hope of a third got killed because of pirating it was one of the most downloaded movies of last year. I wouldn't mind seeing a third Kick Ass movie as long as it's a nice blend of the first and second.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Incredible. A beautiful film that in every way fulfills the promise of the franchise, which is and has always been to explore the failings of mankind.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

I've just viewed this film for the first time and I'm already impatient about that sequel. Get on it, guys! 30 years of slacking off?

It's been awhile since I've watched Buckaroo Banzai, but now that I think about it, Guardians of the Galaxy shares some tone elements with BBAt8D. A Buckaroo Banzai sequel could find success nowadays that eluded the original movie, especially with the following the original movie has developed over the years.

Didn't the sequel ultimately become Big Trouble in Little China?

I marathoned the original TMNT movies.
Wow. That went bad, quickly. I still think the first film is watchable, but dang. Ugh.
I know people hate this new film, but it's going to have to be incredibly bad to out-awful TMNT3.

Rifftrax Godzilla - My god this movie is so god damned boring. Thankfully, the Riffing was as awesome as always. Some of my favorite jokes included the Ninja Turtles sparking, the legal Raptor team from Jurassic Park is coming, being alive to do Smurfs 3, the "I'm going to be in three Transformers movies," and before there was Michael Bay there was Roland Emerich. The movie itself is obviously a 3/10 stars but the Riff Trax gets a nice 9/10. It was odd that there was no short this time though.

The Rifftrax was great, yeah. The Quebec and Earthworm Jim jokes got a pretty good response here. Such a frustrating movie to watch on its own, but the riffing made it much more bearable.

Also saw the Rifftrax Godzilla. They did the Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer riff I always make when I watch the movie!

I'd rather watch The Next Mutation in full again before I ever sit through the new TMNT.

The Expendables 3 - If you liked the first two Expendables where it was nothing but non stop action you will probably find yourself bored out of your mind with this movie. If you did not like either of the last movies you will find yourself even more bored than you were before. This movie just stops in the action department early on to give us characters/actors that nobody knows and nobody cares about and stalls everything until the last half hour of the movie. Not just that, but what they did to Antonio Banderas in this movie is just insulting to his acting career as a whole. This movie just plain out blows and not even in a good way. I give it a 4/10 stars.

Batman Assault on Arkham - I'm not going to lie, I was really skeptical of it due to the last two stinkers and while this is far from perfection, it had great moments to go with a decent story. In fact, Harley and Deadshot are easily the stars of the show as they are just down right awesome in every scene. Troy Baker does an amazing job as the Joker to the point that he might even be better than Hamill. My biggest problems with the movie though were its treatment of Batman. He let people die and frankly, there was no need for him to even be here. Nevertheless, the animators did a great job recreating all of the locations I visited in the games in this thing, be it Penguin's Ice Berg Lounge to that freaking room with the electrified floor to the annoying as hell brick bridge that you have to have the joys of climbing up in Asylum. The only thing I do not understand the movie needed to do was the pointless death scenes that just felt like they were there just to say, "Hey, we killed people, we are edgy!!" Overall, I give this a 7/10 stars and I hope the movies start to go back upward.

Guardians of the Galaxy

I deeply enjoy this movie. For me it's the best Marvel movie simply because it's the most fun. I would very much like toys of the characters, The Art of book, and I'm already very excited about the sequel! No other Marvel movie has affected me this way!

Oh, and I simply must have the soundtrack to listen to when I go to the beach next week!

The Gold Rush (1925 and 1942 re-release)

Charlie Chaplin didn't immediately mesmerize me like Buster Keaton did, but I'm getting ever warmer to his films. I've completely accepted the heavy, old-timey melodrama that was originally hard for me to swallow. In fact, when a lot of those melodramatic scenes in this film are excised in the '42 edit I missed them and wanted them re-instated.

Sin City - To get ready for the new one rewatching this was a no brainer. I absolutely love this movie. The neo noir style is incredible. The stories are interesting and unique. The characters are all great. I think my favorite is The Hard Goodbye, but even that tends to change depending on my mood. There is nothing bad I can say about this movie outside of the fact that we should have had a sequel sooner. Other than that, this is a fantastic movie all around and one of Rodriguez's best and it is also one of the best comic book movies out there. I give this great train ride an 8/10 stars.

Sin City 2 - Nine years ago the first movie came out, and it was not only accurate to the comics, but it was very stylish in its execution. Nevertheless, at the same time, it had a sense of realism about it as the actors looked like they were there in their environments. All four stories were nothing short of fantastic and all of the main players were given great development. A Dame to Kill For has some really great moments of style with it, but it does lack the substance. That does not make it a bad movie at all, but something is missing. For one thing, it looks like the characters are just standing in front of a green screen rather than the environment being there. Not only that, but the movie feels like it is just CGI instead of live action. Thankfully, there is still some great characterization to be found, even if it is lacking compared to the first one. Marv is great, Nancy is fantastic, Ava is awesome, Miho is bad ass, and Johnny rocks. The show is easily stolen by Roark though as Powers Boothe is just down right amazing. In fact, if it weren't for him, the movie would have fallen apart as the rest of the cast is pretty forgettable, especially, and sadly, Dwight. Josh Brolin is just no Dwight. The stories themselves are weaker than those in the first one, with "A Dame to Kill For" being the weakest of the main three, but "Just Another Saturday Night" is a poor intro compared to "The Customer is Always Right" from the first movie. Thankfully, both "Nancy's Last Dance" and "The Long Bad Night" are well done. Overall, Sin City 2 is a good ride, but fails to live up to the first one as most sequels do. Taking nine years did not help either. If you hated the first movie though, there is no reason to waste your time with this one as you will find nothing to praise and will probably complain about the subpar acting. I give this stylish adaptation of a comic a 6/10 stars. If they decide to adapt more stories, they need to do it in the next few years or just forget about it all together.
