Finished Idolmaster Xenoglosia, it was a decent show.
Though as usual it made it seem that they would do more in the future.

Started on Polyphonica (2nd time watching since I had rented it from Netflix in the past).
Pretty decent show.

So I got my order of Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar.
Decided to watch that instead of the rest of Polyphonica.

So far (2 episodes) it's good.
Good dub, fun characters, and an interesting world.
Plus as usual with Tenchi shows, a mess of cute girls of all types.

Kinda a mix of El Hazard (on a different world), Dual (mechs), and usual Tenchi (naked girls).

The episodes are rather long as well.
It seemed that they were at least 45 minutes long.

I've started Gatchaman... even though I've still got a few episodes left of Speed Racer (I couldn't resist! The wonderful Alex Ross cover art enticed me!).

Finished War on Geminar & Polyphonica.
Both were decent.
Tenchi I can see me watching multiple times, not quite sure on Polyphonica.

Up next Polyphonica Crimson S.

We watched Ghost in the Shell Arise 3 tonight. It was pretty good, but probably the weakest of the three episodes released so far. It was very convoluted and I forgot what happened in 2 due to how long it has been. I definitely cannot wait for Funimation to release the series dubbed though as it might be easier to follow (as all of my GitS experiences have been).

Have they said who is dubbing the characters in Arise?
Assuming they are using different voices than the Bandai version.
Who at Funimation could sound like Richard Epcar?

Anyhow it's Anime Expo soon, so I would guess big news on the way.

Finished Polyphonica Crimson S.
Which was sort of a prequel to Polyphonica.
Though the character designs were a lot "smaller" on the girls side.

It was decent, though I liked the other version a bit better.

I recently moved & re-organized my collection.
At least until I get more of the same kind of shelf (which is hard to find at Walmart).
I put the bigger boxed sets on the top & bottom shelves to make more room for normal DVD cases.

Aldnoah Zero 1 - This was quite an interesting show to episode to watch. It was interesting, had a fresh feel to it even though it is covering an old concept, and even though the outcome was predictable, the ending was just incredible. It made me think of a very specific Macross episode. Overall, I am intrigued and cannot wait to check out the next one.

Sailor Moon Crystal 1 - As expect, this was fantastic. The animation was beautiful and I liked how it stuck true to the manga. I'm liking the new voices but I'm not entirely sold on Usagi's voice. I know it was what fans wanted, but she is just too old to do the voice. It was not bad, and she can still pull off the crying quite well, but it would have been better to have a younger voice for her.

I watched the OVA Guyver: Out of Control earlier tonight. I didn't think it was anything special, unfortunately. If you've seen either or both of the anime series, or read the manga, there isn't much reason to see it. It basically condenses four or five different episodes of the series into a 55-minute feature, so in that sense, it's nothing remarkable. You might choose to see it for the character Valcuria, but the OVA's handling of her is pretty hard to stomach. It should suffice to say that there's a hentai moment when she bonds with a Guyver unit, and she furnishes the audience with fan service even in her death. I guess if there's anything to recommend about the OVA, it's the scene where a depressed Sho is sitting and eating a corn cob in a field at night. That was pretty funny, intentionally or not.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time - I got the BD released today since it included the original Japanese version subtitled. ON the positive side, the subtitles are actual subtitles and not dubtitles. Unfortunately, they use the freaking English names for the cards instead of the names being spoken, which is very distracting. I was getting really annoyed at hearing Sin but seeing Malefic in the subs. At least the character names are correct.

Also, I do not understand why, but the audio is only in 2.0 even though the Japanese BD was in 5.1. That was also annoying. Aside from that though, the video looked gorgeous and the music is fantastic. The plot of the movie is what you would expect from a non-canonical anime movie, but it is just that, non-canonical and meant to act as just a nice anniversary feature. It is great seeing Atem and Yugi back with all of the god mode card rules and at least Judai did not have the chance to be a whiner. Overall, it was worth supporting something in the US with the Japanese version intact and I hope it sells well enough to warrant the other series getting uncut bilingual releases. I give the movie a 6/10 as it really is only for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans.

Recently bought DearS and watched it.
I had only seen maybe the first 4 episodes via renting it.

It was pretty fun, but a bit dark at times (all that "master/slave" stuff).
Though as usual with these kinds of shows, it just sorta ends & has no "real" ending (except in the manga).

Also bought (haven't watched it yet) Glass Maiden (called Crystal Blaze in Japan).
It was under $7 at work for the complete collection (sub-only).

Also borrowing Dream Eater Merry & Nyan Koi (with the new dub) from a local library.
Seriously, the local area libraries all have a small (but very nice) anime section with several rather new releases.
Such as these, that KK show, Bodacious Space Pirates, and a few others.

Watched the first disc of Merry, it seems fun but also a bit dark.
The dub is pretty fun & has some of my favorite dub actors in there.

Also watched 2 episodes of Nyan Koi. This seems rather fun as well.
Maybe even an eventual purchase, since I seem to have a BUNCH of School related shows, and I do like cats.

Aldanoah Zero episode 3 was fantastic, especially the scene after the credits.

Sailor Moon 2 was also down right incredible. Another episode that is 90% accurate to the manga. YES!!! This show is already better than the original.

Yeah, I love School Rumble (especially Harima).
Something about school anime just makes me like it.
Maybe it's cause I wish my school life had been even a bit like these shows?
They make school look like a total blast to go to (when in reality it's very hard to go to in Japan).
In the USA it's very dull & boring (IMO).

Anyhow I finished Dream Eater Merry.
It was OK, though like a bunch of other anime it leaves a big "to be continued" ending.
Sure they beat one of the big baddies, but there's still that "lighthouse guy".
Plus Merry still needs to get back to her world.

On disc 2 of Glass Maiden (got at work for really cheap).
Pretty decent thriller/detective kinda show with some evil science thrown in.
This is made by Studio Fantasia who made the rather "racy" shows Najica Blitz Tactics & Agent AiKa.
While this show doesn't have a ton of white panties in frame at all times, you can tell they did work on it.
Similar looking characters, very attractive ladies, and a few nude scenes.

Finished Nyan Koi, and Glass Maiden.
Both had decent endings.
Though with Nyan Koi that ending just leaves you wanting more!

Any opinion on these?

Ray The Animation
The Skull Man

Both are under $17 at work.
Plus we started the usual Buy One Get One 50% Off deal again.
So if I got both shows it would be about $23 (including tax) for both.

As usual it's Funimation & Section 23 (and their related companies).
Also as usual you have to buy two of the same company to get the deal.

I noticed this cause some customer got Tenchi Universe (Funimation re-release) at my register.
When I scanned it, the message about getting a discount if you bought a second show popped up.

Never mind on the Ray/Skull Man thing.

Got something else instead.

Croise In the Foreign Labyrinth
AKB0048 (season 1)

Both for under $30 including tax.

Heard they were good from a source that is usually spot-on.

Up to disc 5 (episode 24) of The Get Backers.
Still a decent show, though I doubt I am going to buy it.

So watched disc 1 of both of the new shows I bought.

Croisee: is very cute, relaxing, and fun. This is a keeper for sure.
Still need to buy Aria one of these days (hopefully it's on sale for Christmas again)
Also wish somebody would rescue Magic Users Club, cause I liked that (it's kinda expensive now)
How's Kaleido Star (another show by Junichi Sato who did all of those shows & Princess Tutu)?

AKB0048: Decent mix of action, music, and cute girls.
Only small flaws are: they don't have song subtitles during the episode (opening/ending songs do).
The dub actors have some issues saying "Nagisa" in a consistent manner
Other than that it's fine, though still not sure if I want to spend $35 to get a DVD version of Season 2.
This was on Blu-Ray (first anime bought solely on Blu-Ray) for $15.

Still not really sure what is up with my workplaces weird anime prices.
We have Heavens Memo Pad on Blu-Ray for like $19, but on DVD it's $40.
We recently reduced the price of Girls Und Panzer down from $40 to $18.
Yet we still have several shows that have much cheaper releases for absurdly expensive prices.
For example we have Chrome Shelled Reigos for $37, but the SAVE is out now for $20.
I think they need to clearance out all the old stuff.

Also up to disc 7 of Get Backers.
Still a decent show, though I doubt I would buy it (looks like it would get old pretty quick) even though we sell it for about $25

So I got started on a few anime. Just started watching the new Akame Ga Kill; great anime! I dread Simulcast because of the waits, but they sure are worth some of the time, and this one proves to be the case. :)

Also watching the Netflix exclusive, Knights of Sidonia (Sidonia No Kishi). This one is really well done. The characters are a bit hard to distinguish sometimes, but the story and the world alone are fantastic! Made it to episode 4 so far.
