Anguirus

Postby Invictus » Tue Feb 10, 2004 4:38 pm

Well, my Photoshop screwed up somehow, the tool bar went and crapped out on me and until my wife, the Goddess of Computers, comes back from her vacation tomorrow, I can't add any text. Luckily she installed another back up painting program, for me, but it doesn't quite have the options Photoshop does, ie: no text, but I can color with it.

So here's what I think the Heisei version of Anguirus would look like. I took a huge page out of Kaneko's unused design and based Anguirus' body on a large dog, which is exactly how I seem him fighting. The most difficult part of introducing the monster into the comic book storyline. Most of the monsters that appear are created or cloned by the Futurians, but Anguirus deserved a little more respect. I wanted something much like Kanko's idea of guardians, which I thought was cool, but how to fit it into the Heisei universe was the trick. So my thinking came the way of the Cosmos. Perhaps Mothra wasn't the only God-like creature the Cosmos made. Perhaps, they created several monsters to act as deities and protectors and destroyers and that is why the Earth spirits created Battra to destroy the Cosmos. The Cosmos upset the balace of the Earth by the making of this deity monsters as well as trying to control the Earth's weather. This fit perfectly with the next storyline I have planned in the comic series where a number of these Deity Monsters awaken to reclaim the Earth, and to destroy all 'man-made', which would include Godzilla. This will include a number of Showa monsters, which is in a way very respectable that most Showa monsters will be concidered Gods in the Heisei univers. Anyway, here's his bio for the comic book. It also lets you in on how some of the storyline for the first arc goes.

ANGUIRUS

STATS
Length: 100 Meters
Weight: 45,000 Metric tons

POWERS
Anguirus has no beams or firing weapons, but more then makes up for them with his speed, agility, and fighting spirit. He posseses a spiky carapace which not only provides protection but can be used in an offensvie manner as well. Anguirus can jump both forward or backward, curling his body in and using his spikes to impale enemies, both forward or behind. His jaws are powerful, able to lock into postion when he bites an oppenent, much like a bulldog. He uses the nose horn to charge enemies, like a rhino, and often barrels through oppenents, knocking them on the ground. His most dangerous weapon however, is the spiked club tail, which Anguirus can swing with devasting results. He can easily borrow through the ground as well, and often uses this to his advantage.

HISTORY
Created ages ago by the Cosmos, Anguirus was the God
of Earth. For some unknown reason, perhaps to save their civilation from the Earth, the Cosmos placed Anguirus in a hibernative sleep with advanced technology. Centuries past, soil and vegatation grew over the monster as the age of dinosaurs was ending. Two eggs were placed above Anguirus' resting place, the plants, feeding on the energy that kept Anguirus in his state also kept these two eggs perserved for centuries. In the year 2005, an escavation of on Adona Island, lead by Dr. Chinatsu Gondo, wife of Akira Yuki, discovers Anguirus in his habernative sleep. However, a renegade group of Futurians that have been stranded in this timeline since 1991 forcefully take the sight before Gondo has a chance to examine her find. The Futurians have been raiding Cosmos technology to help them create and clone an army of kajius under thier control to shape the future the way they want too. Mothra arrives on the island, angered at the perversion of Cosmos artifacts, but is soon overpowered by the Futurian created Megaguirus and Gigan. Mothra's cries awaken Anguirus who emerges to take his place as God of the Earth once more.

That's not bad at all. The arms are a bit too long, but. It's good.
It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

I like the drawing, except that those chest spikes might impale him if he got his head knocked down onto his chest. The collar thing makes him look like he's wearing a shell.
But a "Heisei" monster that's agile? That would be a first...

I like it...but I can't say I love it. It's an interesting take on Anguirus though, like Kedz's KG. But nice overrall though :)
