Oh, and I'll give you a Comic Con secret I've held since I saw the footage.....

I got my pass the morning of the Hall H presentation

The line was a good 8000 people deep, no way I was getting in, so after the first 200 people entered I spoke with one of the security managers and told him I was with my wife and she needed her medication, we'd been there so long I had to run to the car and get it and her phone was off. He said, "Go right in, enjoy!!"

Hall H wait time: 10 minutes

When GFW came out I was 2 years into my second marriage, still married , and my oldest was getting ready to graduate from high school.

Well I was skeptical too, but its different to be skeptical than NO THEY SHOULD NEVER DO ANOTHER AMERICAN GODZILLA BECAUSE THEY JUST DON'T GET IT.

ITS GOING TO BE TOO SERIOUS I WANT VS MEGALON

Or the classic

WHAT EVER IT IS I KNOW I WON'T LIKE IT.

Some of that hasn't changed much.

CHRIST, THREE WEEKS!

Just overall positive waves for this movie in general. No doubt like when GFW came out. Watching the NBA playoffs and they are definitely playing the commercials for Godzilla. They play them during Adult Swim. During Toonami. They're getting all the right spots and aiming for the right demographics. Actually it reminds me of Man Of Steel's ad campaign when it was getting into final gear.

What I am curious about is how the movie will be targeted in Japan.

I don't think it will do well.. Godzilla and kaiju in general are not popular there (there's a reason why Bandai Web Exclusive Monsterarts get normal retail releases here), and most devastatingly, the Pokemon XY movie, a tried and true family movie franchise opens the week before.

But it will be interesting to see Godzilla in all the magazines that usually promoted it back in the Millenium era.

So, what do you think this new era will be called? SHIN Millenium Era? heheh...
