I'm a huge Transformers fan but after three movies of farting robots, urinating robots, genital jokes, minstrel-show style racist humor, bad acting, overacting, horrible dialogue, incompetent editing, illogical storylines, and terrible robot designs, I think I'm gonna pass on this one.

I just cant get excited for this one, it looks cool, but so did all of them. The substance just isn't there and I don't see that changing. The Tfs could have so much more compelling as characters themselves and instead we got toilet humor, nonsensical macguffins, and terrible human characters that were given the spotlight.

Yesterday, I was walking around the house with my gun and my wife asked why I was so nervous. I looked her dead in the eyes and said, "The Decepticons are among us."

She laughed.
I laughed.
The toaster laughed.
I shot the toaster.

It was a fun day.

THR:

"It's a little arrogant of us to presume success each time," Lorenzo di Vonaventura says, saying that he and director Michael Bay are taking the series one-movie-at-a-time.

michaelbay.com:

Why? Because for one, we did technically-excellent 3D in this film. We conceived and shot this movie with 3D cameras.

THR:

Occasional glimpses of hope for a fresh reboot are extinguished by a generally bloated and dull spectacle.

IGN:

Transformers: Age of Extinction producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura gives us his thoughts on a Transformers space adventure as one of the sequels.

Collider:

"Then it took fifteen Hong Kong cops in riot gear to pull me off these punks."
Remember that scene at the beginning of Batman Begins? It was like that. BOOM!

Well, we agreed very early on that there’s so much rich mythology to the Transformer universe that we didn’t want the movies going forward to fall into kind of predictable pattern of there are good Autobots and there are bad Decepticons and there’s some issue that they’re fighting over and they fight.

Saw it last night with the wife. As a TF fan since day 1, I have to say this was by far the BEST of the film franchise. It's amazing what improvements come simply from more mature actors/actresses, and reducing toilet humor. I would have liked to see a few more bots & cons, but perhaps the smaller number of characters is what benefited this story as well. I hope TF5 keeps going in this direction.

I've heard they toned down the humor, which honestly, is my biggest problem with this franchise. The story sounds kind of cool from the synopses I've read. Might check this one out when it's on DVD. I just can't bring myself to watch a 165 minute Michael Bay movie in a theater.

I think he likes making movies...I think he hates people.

I can't bring myself to see this, maybe ever. 165 minutes for a TRANSFORMERS MOVIE?!?!?! That goes above and beyond excessive.

That's two Transformers movies.

Have you guys ever been to the Seibertron.com forums? It's insane how much the TF fans over there gush over these movies.
