I posted this is the toy thread, but I think it bears repeating here:

Stopped in my local TRU today. They had the Jakks Goji....man that thing is MASSIVE but honestly it looks kinda crummy. Not sure I'd ever buy that. The only G2014 that was appealing was the Roar/Beam Godzilla. The rest look very meh to me, or maybe my love for the design is waning severely. I dunno...I'm sure the movie will depict a much better Godzilla since these are toys, but *shrug*

Most of these movies are released early anyway these days. PacRim's first showing was 7 PM Thursday, even though the "official release date" was Friday.

So apparently the April fools joke is legendary announcing that Michael bay will be involved with the Godzilla sequel...

Uh, really? Seems a bit harsh. I mean, Michael Bay may not be everyone's favorite director (he certainly isn't mine, anyway), but he's still a big name in the industry, and very popular to boot, so making him the butt of a joke like that seems like an odd move, considering that the expected reaction would be everyone recoiling in horror.

it's no joke..Bay approached Edwards last week about a seque,l and from what was said Bay wants to take a popular kaiju, and give it a grand revision using human dna and robotic parts..

That's a solid shot. Seems to reinforce what I said for a while about the spines: they only looked "small" because for a while we were only seeing neck-up shots. They look plenty big enough in that shot.

Only kind of. This didn't have anything resembling the fanfare of the other official releases, seeing how it was quietly released on Warner Bros. Spanish youtube page and all. It hasn't been acknowledged or posted by any of the official social media outlets, for example.
