To be fair, it does look like he's just hanging his arms in the silhouetted shot from the international trailer. It reminds me of his posture in Megalon after he tossed the uprooted tree away.

I doubt he's just going to walk around like that, though.

We all knew this would be the most polarizing issue with this film. I still feel its not worth getting worked up over until we see the design in the context of the film itself.
Take kinggoji for example, I have always thought this design looks great in models, toys etc.. but I think it is silly looking for a majority of the film itself, thats just my opinion. Doesn't take away from the film at all. Obviously the design isn't as important as we all make it out to be, considering a film like Son of Godzilla is widely a fan favorite on this board.

I think they've struck an interesting balance between reptilian and mammalian, which all the best designs have accomplished. I'm so happy they didn't just reference theropod dinosaurs... Godzilla's not a bird, he's more of a crocodile and he's definitely got some of that here. He looks like a burly throwback, and the bear touches certainly brings that out, on top of allowing for a more expressive face.

I think it's safe to say that a LOT of designs over the years may look spiffy in stills but in motion not so much ...and vice versa. Even then the look can change within the film (or even within a scene!) and still pics sometimes only look cool from certain angles, etc. With the older series not being able to replicate a suit's look for miniature versions for long distant shots or the puppet heads used in close-ups it makes it even more of a toss up. It still does this (to a lesser degree, but still... ) in the Heisei & Millenium films, to an extent.

What it all boils down to is that the proof will be in the pudding ...in 51 days. I'll give the LP creative team a LOT of leeway if their re-design (which isn't my "dream" version, not even close) does all the great things that I want and acts the way I hope to see in the movie, versus a design that I love to death but doesn't do anything cool or have any Godzilla-esque traits or personality. My favs and hates have shifted and changed over the years, I would put this new LegendGoji up in the top 10 based on looks alone, but even that's tough to sign off on since almost all of the unobscurred visuals we've seen are kids' toys or utterly craptastic photoshop hackjob artwork. The one shot that endeared me the most on this re-design- of all things - was the 3/4 side upper body view on those party napkins.

Hey, anyone know what formats this movie is going to be presented in? I know that there will be 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D, but will there be regular IMAX showings and that sort of thing? I want as awesome of an experience as possible but I hate 3D.

I thought this was pretty cool; a fan made suit based off what we've seen of Godzilla so far:

On the subject of 3D, was the movie filmed with stereoscopic cameras or is it going to be a post conversion? Not that it matters for Godzilla and the other kaiju, as being CGI they can (and should) be rendered in 3D even if everything around them is a conversion.
