Just got finished watching Justice League: War . It was ok... nothign really bad about it, but nothign over the top special. DC is stretching the limits of PG-13 now though, instead of using innuendo and pseudo-cursing, they just curse straight out. I wasn't really bothered by it, but with the action and intensity of these films, I just dont think its really necassary.

Oh and Steve Blum as Darkseid - what was heard on the previous was evidently not "final", they synthed up his voice to the point it was unrecognizable. I think it was a good choice. Sure Blum is a heck of a VA's but what we've come to expect with Darkseid being one of the most powerful beings in DC, his voice should not sound plainly human, and in that, it delivered, although he has only a handful of spoken lines anyway. GL was a total ass, probably liked his chjaracter the least, Cyborg was probably the most interesting of the Seven heroes. I know the point of the "New 52" is to give the iconic heroes slightly different personalities, but different dosen't equate to better.

The preview as shown above for "Son of Batman" looks better than anticipated, but I still maintain my stance that i would like 2015 to be a year where DC breaks away from Batman & Superman in its animated features

So yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah, what the hell did I just watch? This movie was down right terrible and reflects EVERYTHING wrong with the New 52. First off, the animation is subpar, but my god, the lip synching was terrible. The lips rarely ever seemed to match up with the dialog. Secondly, the voices were quite bad, especially on Darkseid, Batman, and Hal. Yes, they did a lot better job of hiding Blum's voice than the trailers made it sound, but he just sounded robotic rather than godly. Batman and Hal were off on all accounts. Another issue is I just don't understand the need to put Captain Marvel in here. Not only did he feel out of place, but I just don't get it. He says the word "Shazam" to transform, and then says "Shazam' later and stays as is, then does it again and it transforms him. It just does not make sense at all. Not to mention what the hell happened to Billy. Gone is the sweet kind hearted always positive child and he is now a little sack of **** you just want to whack with a belt. How is this kid deserving of Shazam's power? In fact, that is the other problem here and with the N52. Except for Flash, every character in this movie was broody and ready to insult one another. There was not a single different character trait among them to make them not seem like the same character several times over. Speaking of Flash, how come he is in his non-N52 costume? That makes no freaking sense either!!! Superman killing Zod in "Man of Steel" made sense. His killing Desaad here does NOT!! However, the worst atrocity was Darkseid, or rather, I swear that Doomsday took Darkseid's Olympic clothing because this character did not even feel like Darkseid. He just felt like an unstoppable killing machine. There was no purpose to his invasion because this movie had no plot. It is like the writers just took the action scenes out of the comic and instead of turning it into DLC for "Injustice Gods Among Us," they made it into a movie.

On the positive side, the constant banter between Hal and Batman remained the best part of the movie as it did in the comic. Flash was golden. They did a good job of Cyborg. Other than that, there is nothing I can really praise this movie for. This is one of the worst, if not the worst, DC animated movie WB has ever done. It was insulting the audience, and as I previously said, it highlights everything that is wrong with the current state of the comics. Oh yeah, and Superman and Wonder Woman is just no no NO!!! NO!!!!!

Overall, I give this piece of garbage a 4/10 and that is only because the action scenes were sort of cool and there were good one liners in it (such as Batman stealing Hal's ring and his first words to Flash).

I've stayed away from the new 52 basically because I dont really care for the way they've changed some of the iconic characters. So basically what you are saying, is that the film was true to the source, its just that the source was bad to begin with... Unfortunately if that is the case, there is no way they could make this movie good unless they did somethingnot true to the new 52. I will say it was probably the weakest of all the JL offerings, but not the worst of their animated films overall.

It was also the worst. I was really taken back by how much I didn't like this movie. Forget sticking to the source material or not liking the New 52... While I love the New 52 Batman stories, this didn't reflect that or previous DC animated movies at all. It could've easily been an episode from Justice League instead of stretched out to the (short) runtime it had. It had horrible pacing and the time spent with each character was annoyingly uneven. The synth music was unbearably cheap. Where's Christopher Drake? He can actually make synthesizers sound legitimate. Terrible way to kick off the slew of New 52 movies. Bring Bruce Timm back.

Put me on the list with the rest of you that hated this movie. Normally I can find things I like in the smelliest of cheese. I'm generally not especially critical if I'm being entertained on at least one level. But what plot there was existed only to set up the never ending fight scenes, which were good, but got old quick. And the heroes, for the most part, didn't act like heroes, they acted like a bunch of hormone loaded teenagers trying to prove who was the biggest jock. Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman all showed the same maturity as Billy Batson/Shazam. Batman wasn't much better at times, only Cyborg and Flash showed any signs of being responsible, and heroic, adults. I truly did not like the personalities shown by most of the heroes. And if you can't like the heroes, you really can't care about what they do. And yeah, the Darkseid character was just there to give the "heroes" a super tough punching bag they had to beat.

I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend.

Sadly, it probably will. One of my friends was reading an article today that they are going to start doing 2 movies a year based on a N52 story and a Batman adaptation from now on. I'm not sure what he was reading, so I hope it is false.

WB and Cartoon Network have released the first sneak peak of an all-new DC Nation animated short from Bruce Timm. Not much information is given, but any fan of Bruce Timm should be ecstatic for this!

Awesome cant wait. I'm guessing the name implies Hugo Strange, and probably some sort of trippy dream (or alternate world) sequence with a number of Batman characters appearing in a short span of time. For what its worth, i knwo this has ntohign to do with the Superman 75th short that came out last year, btu that was pretty awesome, and I expect this to be as well.
