I'm hoping that my local Target is going to carry the Godzilla stuff, but I have a feeling my only options are going to be TRU and Amazon.

Since they already carry the existing Godzilla toys, perhaps Kmart will be carrying the Godzilla movie toys as well! I really ought to check my local store just in case.

Or this could be mirroring what Bandai is doing with the Power Rangers Legacy stuff and TRU is the only physical store chain that will carry the line, the rest being Diamond and online retailers.

I will be checking Targets and Tru here in Canada. I only think I will get a destruction pack for fun, what I really want(depending on looks) is a Monster arts of Biggest G.

I just won a G2014 Destruction City off of eBay for 21.14, and it has grey buildings instead of green ones! :D

" " Very nice. And glad to see the final versions won't have green buildings.

I noticed my local FYE has some of NECA's Pacific Rim toys, so hopefully they'll be getting NECA Godzilla too. I like being able to pick up new toys in person, it's a better plastic-thrill! :D

Well, the Toys R Us in Louisville KY on Dixie Highway had two of the giant Jakks Godzillas, and I got one of 'em, if anyone is in the area and wants to take a stab at it. In retrospect I probably should have gotten both and tried to ebay the other one, but no big deal.

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but what is interesting is that it's clear that at some point this big guy was intended to play sound... he's got speaker grill slits right in his junk vicinity, and inside the cavity where you attach the tail is a pretty clear battery cover, but instead of a screw it's sealed up with a black plastic plug. My guess is they pulled the feature to save a few bucks on the manufacturing costs (or one of the other company's toy license gave them exclusive rights to an audio feature... I guess that's feasible).

It's still an awesome toy, but if they were gonna yank that feature I wish they'd reworked the mold for that one piece so he didn't have vertical slots in his crotch... it's like there's a midget in a traditional Godzilla rubber suit and he needs air holes to breathe...

The thing about those missing electronics is that it may only be a temporary thing. Although the mass release of the Jakks Darth Vader was a plain old figure, there was a later variant exclusive to Costco that has a voice box. We may very well see an exclusive version somewhere down the road that has Godzilla's roar/stomping sounds, or there will be a running change and it'll be available everywhere.

Anyone have any idea which stores (other than TRU) will be carrying the Jakks Pacific Giant Size Godzilla?

I just realized my plan for checking my local TRUs is heavily flawed. I work 12 hours shifts, and I work Sun-Tues. So by the time I go the the chance to check it'll be the 18th, a day after the embargo lifts and probably a day after the toys are supposed to hit the shelves. Oh well, looks like I'll have to think of some other crazy get rich quick scam.
