The poster to me is funny. It does borrow a lot from all those other movie posters. Doesn't mean it is a bad thing. Just some unintentional humor.

Cool guys don't look at the cities they've destroyed. Me likey. :) Though yeah, it is kinda funny now that people have pointed out it kinda fits with the whole "shot of a guy's back" poster design. It just seems a bit humourous that in this case that it's Godzilla doing that pose here instead.

EDIT: And yeah, I've always called it "atomic breath" or "atomic fire breath".
