It seems to me that some people are expecting this trailer to practically be the movie itself.

Look, this movie by all intents and purposes looks like an Action/Sci Fi/Disaster film. At some point they are going to need to market this movie on the thrills and not just the mystery. I think the point HannibalBarca is getting at is that after one leak, and one teaser, the next trailer is going to be ANOTHER brooding mood piece. I can see why that is slightly disappointing. I would rather have an action shot of Godzilla fighting something than another murky look at him.

That being said, Gareth has said that this movie is more about suspense, so there is a chance that these trailers are accurate of the over-all tone of the film/how they handle most of the monster scenes. In that case I can also see why some fans could be disappointed by that given that Godzilla has been a very action oriented franchise to date.

Yeah, jor, thanks. That's what I was getting at. I'm also concerned about the above mentioned lack of any apparent indication to general audiences that there will be other monsters in this movie. Maybe they're saving that for last? Who knows.

I have to appreciate LP/WB trying to keep things under wraps so that we don't get spoiled.

I never got intensely crazy for a trailer until after the Comic-Con 2013 airport scene was shown. I was kind of bullpoop that we didn't get too see anything after that and that is what gave me blue balls on the trailer business since. I have been happy with what I have seen so far so anything else is icing on the cake.

I actually love reading descriptions of footage more than seeing the footage sometimes. That's what made Gamera 3 so special to me. I couldn't visualize what it looked like and when I finally saw it I nearly crapped myself. Hopefully I get the same reaction to this movie.

I would have preferred if our first official look at the MUTOs wasn't in toy form, but guess that's just how it goes.

I just want to see what a MUTO actually looks like instead of Spy vs Spy mated with a spider.

I like the tail, but I'm disappointed that this Godzilla's body is basically just a white box with graffiti on it.

As for the MUTOs in the trailer: they may be going for something like the advertising for Pixar's Up and Wal*E

They sold the concept, characters, a visuals for the films with the ads - but kept most of the plot in secret. That may be the plan for Godzilla: a trailer that introduces the human characters (love that they're positioning Cranston as the main star), and the existence/power/terror of Godzilla himself and leaving plot mechanizations in the dark.

I hope they have picked another piece of music that adds adds the gravitas that the Legeti theme did.
They have a marketing plan. The tone they have been trying to sell for Godzilla 2014 has been in
place since Comic-con 2012. Each time they have released something it has received rave reviews. I really think they know what they are doing.
We got one small snippet and other clues about the mutos in the first trailer. We are almost certain to get more with the next.

Remember those G2014 napkins on eBay? Someone on facebook purchased them and is saying they are legit. Hmmm.
