I'm really having trouble getting excited for this. I feel like I saw the whole movie in that trailer.

The weird thing is, I'm not even a HUGE fan of that style of poster, but it's massively refreshingly different than the typical stuff.

I just got back from seeing it here in the UK, and seriously, this movie is amazing. Possibly the best Marvel movie yet. It's even better than the trailers make it look, absolutely fantastic. If you're a fan of Brubaker's Captain America run in particular, you're going to love it.

And as much as the trailers show (and they do show a bit too much), there are still some great surprises I didn't see coming, so even if you've watched every piece of footage they've put out so far, there's still lots of stuff left to see (and those action scenes are also far, far more exciting than just the bits and pieces on show in the trailers).

Oh yeah and even though it kinda goes without saying at this point, make sure to stay until the very end of the credits. There's a scene midway through and then another at the very end, though the first one is the most major/important of the two.

Going to watch this tonight as part of the double feature. Fairly excited...although I'm not sure why, mostly Phase 2 has been pretty subpar compared to Phase 1, but I'm holding out hope for this one mostly on account of the great source material.

It's far better than Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. There's no question it's easily the strongest Phase 2 movie yet, and it's definitely one of the best movies Marvel have put out period. The original Iron Man, The Avengers and now Winter Soldier are imo the top tier of Marvel movies to date. You're gonna love it! :D

Already enjoying the music. Nothing revolutionary, but I enjoy Henry Jackman a great deal.

I guess I'm in bizzaro world, I couldn't stand it. It was competently made, but lifeless. The Winter Soldier was non-existent and barely registered in a story titled after him. There's no resolution either, and what there is re-treads over the Avengers ending (going ghost, etc.).

It's pure fluff.

Just came back from seeing Cap 2. Pretty good movie. I won't post any spoilers as requested not to. Just make sure to stay until the very end of the credits as this has two end credits scenes. Particularly enjoyed Anthony Mackie portraying Falcon. He did a good job in this.

The best Marvel Studios film yet and I found the heavier, more serious and less jokey tone to be a real tonal shift that these moves needed. The sprinkles of humor that were in there were appropriate and not over bearing like most of the MCU movies.'for once they gave us a movie that feels different. And anyone that misses the comedy will get it with Guardians. This was a good spy thriller that just happened to have superheroes in it.

It's also the first of these with a score I thought was good enough to listen to on its own.

Bravo, Marvel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I didn't find anything notably wrong with it. Most of what it attempted worked and it was a lot of fun.

That being said, it wasn't a particularly stand-out movie. Overall, I love the MCU-- I love the fact it's a connected, 9 movie universe with generally strong entries. But few, if any, are outstanding; and nearly none stand out with a different feel or style. I applaud Captain America: The First Avenger for looking and feeling the most unique of the lot. While it's an overall inferior movie to The Winter Soldier, I loved the saturated, almost washed out look. I loved the steampunk-esque, revisionist technology. I loved how it had an Indiana Jones approach to period piece, blockbuster filmmaking. It was far from a great movie, but the time setting gave Johnston the opportunity to set the tone of his film apart from everyone elses.

Of course with The Winter Soldier taking place in the present much of that had to go. That's perfectly okay. The MCU, with films in the same continuity, tends to carry movies that look and feel like one another. It's not so much a complaint as it is an observation. Directors just don't have the greatest amount of freedom with these movies because they're so connected story-wise and visually. It's the price for creating a shared universe of many larger-than-life characters.

Despite the handicaps, I think the whole MCU is a brilliant, successful experiment. The Winter Soldier is a strong... comic "issue" in the current crop and it was a lot of fun. Still, I prefer other entries. Iron Man remains my favorite. I praise The Avengers for spinning into wild territory. And out of the phase 2 films Iron Man 3 is still my favorite. It's flaws are a little glaring, but I love how polarizing it is as a sort of anti-origin, superhero story.

I think The Winter Soldier is a bigger deal to the MCU than the superhero genre as a whole, and that's fine. It's not as demanding as Iron Man 3, nor do its rugpulls work as well as Iron Man 3. (I pretty much called every, big twist.) Mac is right. It's fluff, but it's meticulous, fun fluff. And it's enough to keep me excited for the next few entries. Looking forward to both Guardians of the Galaxy and Age of Ultron.

And as much as I love the score, I still think Iron Man 3 and Thor: Dark World have better, stronger music.

I have some minor issues, but I think this was great. It's probably second to Avengers..and a lot of that is just that AVENGERS IS AVENGERS reasons. I loved so much of what happened. So much has changed because of this film, and it makes me even more excited for Age of Ultron.
My favorite moment is how Winter Soldier solves the car-problem....by tearing the steering wheel off.

I went with a group of friends, and we all agreed this was a great entry in the MCU. The basic story was solid, with some relevancy to current events. The action scenes were extremely well choreographed and filmed, and the stunt work was outstanding. And while my favorite Cap baddie, Batroc, wasn't as prominent as I might have wanted, he was essential to the plot. And the fight he had with Cap was a great one. I think this movie does have the most complex storyline of any of the individual movies Marvel has done til now, but I'm not sure it beats out The Avengers for overall fun.

Chalk up another win for Marvel.
