I think the Pats had an easy road to the AFC Championship Game as I don't think Indy was even better than KC, honestly. That game turned when Knile Davis went down in the second half after Charles had been already taken out...

KC was incapable of running with their top TWO running backs out and they weren't able to just ice the game and milk the clock like they otherwise could have and would have.

I think Indy was the AFC's weakest playoff team and it showed against New England. Denver is probably the AFC's strongest team, so we'll see what a Pats team without Gronk can do against them, and what a defense without Wilfork does without Manning.

Ultimately, the team that runs it better will win, I think. I just hope LeGarrette freaking Blount doesn't magically run all over Denver like he has against his opponents in the past two games (for a guy who's been a BUM for like 3 years now)

Well I was 1-1. And I tip my hats to the Seahawks as a team & restpected rival (despite the fact that some of their players are asshats), that came from behind and defeated my beloved 49ers. And of course the Denver win.

My Superbowl Prediction - On a Neutral Field I predict Denver will have no problem defeating Seattle (and I usually root for the NFC Team).

As for Next Year, with all the parity in the league, who knows. The 49ers have made it to the NFC Championship 3 years in a row now, thats about all the window a team gets these days. Seattle can continue to covet their Division & Conference acheivments, while falling short of the goal (in all likelyhood). I also predict some NFL teams will have found a way to lessen the effectiveness of the "12th Man" in Seattle next season. The Cardinals showed it can be done. The Panthers, Texans (a horrible team), and 49ers showed that teams can score in Seattle and make them have to bring their "A" game to win.

Texans were more horribly coached than horrible.

It finally caught up to them this year, but Kubiak was basically terrible throughout his tenure.

Anyway, I'm pleased with the way the games ended. I loathe Harbaugh so it made it easy to want Seattle to win, and I can't stand New England or like 90% of their fanbase.

All in all, I wanted a solid Denver win to just get New England the hell out and a good NFC Championship game and that's exactly what I got. Not one of the best weekends of football ever or anything (the best thus far was the wild card round which featured several close/historic games AND the following Monday featured a good BCS title game) but certainly better than the mediocre Divisional Round.

I was wrong with my Superbowl picks, but the teams I wanted to win are moving on.

I am rooting for Manning. It's a great story and I lived in Indy for 5 years, so I am hoping he pulls it off.

And Sherman needs to lose. Even though I bet Crabtree was also running his mouth, I just find his comments classless.

On a neutral field, I would pick offense over defense (even though the Seahawks have very good D).

Well, hated to see my Pats lose, but making it that far after the injuries they have suffered throughout the season, my hats off to them. Looking forward to their 2014 season. As for the Super Bowl, i'm curious to see what the weather is going to be like that evening. As good as Denver is offensively, Seattle is built to give them fits. This should be a classic matchup. I'm rooting for Seattle though. I don't like the Broncos, and this goes back to Shannon Sharpe's sideline "killing the Patriots" rant years ago.

Looking back over my pre-season predictions, some things I got remarkably (or maybe unremarkably) correct:
AFC Playoffs - 4 of the 6 teams, and of the two I got wrong, one was Houston, and the other was the second wild-card which really COULD have gone to my predicted team (Baltimore) had things gone just a touch differently.
2 of this year's 5 new playoff teams (KC and New Orleans)
2 of last year's playoff teams to be missing this year (Washington, Minnesota)
Denver running away with the AFC.
Called Washington's year dead.
Predicted Tampa would be terrible and Doug Martin would have a huge slump of a season.
Everything I said about Minnesota (Ponder sucks) and Detroit (their coach will cost them big time)

Some things I got insanely wrong:
Predicted the 49ers to miss the playoffs (though I still contend that it's their QB who holds them back)
Predicted Cleveland would be competitive (and more importantly, that Wheeden would take a step forward)
Predicted San Diego would be a team in shambles.
Predicted Carolina would only have an outside chance if Newton had a huge year, and even then wouldn't be able to compete with New Orleans or Atlanta.
Predicted Atlanta would be a potential Super Bowl team
Predicted Houston would make the AFC Championship.

All in all, I think a few of the things I got wrong were things EVERYONE got wrong, and I'm okay with missing on a couple of long-shot fliers (like: San Fran will miss the playoffs) because if you just do everything safe, then what's the fun of making predictions at all?

Ugh.

There's only one team that could have overcome the deficit Denver faced, and they went 6-10 this year and are drafting 9th. The Comeback survives. That's what I took out of this game, because there was literally nothing else worth noting.

Peyton did what he could but his team really blew it. Seahawks were amazing tonight. Happy to see them get that first trophy.

The game was awful. The Broncos couldn't get any pass protection, made a huge mistake on special teams, and then had nothing going offensively. The commercials were, from what I saw, were mostly boring. Meh.

Manning had more completions than any QB in Super Bowl history. He may have been having trouble, but he certainly wasn't the reason the Broncos fell apart. I'd blame the defense/special teams first, then the O-line. Really the whole team. Tons of dropped passes.

I'm not trying to take away from Seattle at all. I think their defense was going to win anyway playing like they did, but Manning is the least of the Broncos' concerns looking back at the game.

Yeah, Manning is not a mobile quarterback and it showed. He's a pocket passer, which means he needs his O line to step up and buy him time to throw. Seattle was happy to give him screen passes to 2-3 yards and that was about it. They were so much better defensively than Denver's ability to move the ball. It doesn't matter who your QB is - without protection you're going to lose most games.

If you think about Seattle's first few possessions, they actually could have been up even more since they settled for field goals..

Kudos to Seattle. I like Wilson, so I'm not upset they won. I just like Manning and wanted to see him get another ring.
