Rise of the Planet of the Apes was fantastic. While it's a shame that Rupert Wyatt isn't returning for this new installment, Matt Reeves is a great director so I have high hopes for Dawn. Bring it on!

Rupert Wyatt was supposed to helm Dawn at first too, so I guess we'll just wait and see...

It's cool that they're thinking ahead, but I feel the same about X-Men: Apocalypse, let's wait and see how the next movie is/does.

I really have no idea what you'd call yet another Planet of the Apes.

Rise made a TON of sense, Dawn kinda sorta makes sense (though it's very similar to Rise)...

Day of the Planet of the Apes?
War of the Planet of the Apes?
Planet of the Planet of the Apes?

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

I think when the planet is in their control, just Planet of the Apes is fine.
