I have to say if Godzilla ends up being garbage as far as being liked and getting it right, this could be a career ender for Edwards. They are really putting that guy on a high pedestal.

With him being such an inexperienced blockbuster Director, part of me has worried about too much studio influence. I hope that Godzilla doesn't have any parts that don't feel 'made by committee.'

Well this is probably totally unnecessary, but it could come in 4K or some new format with these Ultra HD tvs around the corner: http://www.whathifi.com/news/4k-blu-ray ... e-official

afterall if you want a great movie to watch on a giant screen with some ridiculous amount of graphics, what better film than the first Godzilla movie shot on a digital 3d camera (at least I know that was the plan for the lest decade).

As for the interview, well not much was learned except there will be a lot of night scenes based on the overnight shooting and [spoiler]looks like Sabongui's character will survive.[/spoiler] Guess I'll check out this almost human show. Previews looked good though I have yet to finish Breaking Bad.

With regards to using Ifukube's classic G-scores...

I won't bother me if there aren't any snippets, sections or cues from Ifukube's scores used in Edwards' new G-film, but it' would be a real kick to hear it used in the Hobbit-attached teaser and other early trailer(s). I imagine bits from GvsMothra '64 during the brief glimpses of Muto ...and maybe even Godzilla's actual theme music when we hear his footsteps and roar (off camera) swelling to full volume when we catch site of his foot/leg coming into frame. That would be a nice tip of the hat to G's roots and a real fire stoker for both casual & hardcore fans.

As much as I love Ifukube's Godzilla theme, I personally doubt it will make it to this movie in any shape or form and I honestly hope that it doesn't. To me, it would just seem really out of place. My hope is that Alexander Desplat creates a new Godzilla theme, one that is both memorable and terrifying.

However, I wouldn't mind it if the classic theme pops up in the teasers or trailers.

In any case, we will find out in a few months
