*Also has his money on the "he won't die, or if he does it'll only be the character who think so and the audience will know better" options*
A bit late, but that was a really great trailer. I loved the slow, dramatic buildup at the start, with the soldiers jumping from above the clouds being a really great way to build tension and anticipation as to what they're actually it is that they're jumping into. Plus for audiences who don't know it's a Godzilla trailer, it's a good way to get them hooked and excited before they realise "oh wait,
that's the new Godzilla movie they're making?! That looks really good!" whereas there might have been those who would dismiss something like this just based upon the title alone. So yeah, very cool. Can't wait to see the
proper version whenever it comes out.
I'm still not entirely feeling the new roar though. I love the end of it that's all whale-like and the initial 'shriek' to start with, but it still sounds a little weird that it's missing the middle bit, like the real meat of the roar isn't quite there. If it had that middle part it'd be fantastic, but as it stands now it just sounds a little bit little "off" to me (but still good). But hey, I can easily reconcile that as simply being how this particular version of Godzilla sounds. And honestly, if that ends up being my biggest complaint with the film (that's if the roar even ends up sounding exactly like it does in the teaser anyway), then I'll be a very happy viewer indeed!
