Godzilla (2014) Part Three (NON-SPOILER DISCUSSION)

So, due to being ridiculously busy (gonna pull down like 25-30 hrs of overtime, which is nice), I just finally watched the original teaser on the big screen in my home theater now. I've seen it before, but this was the first time I was IMMERSED in it.

My god. I take back my criticism of the roar. This thing is gonna rock my socks when I hear it in a theater.

That subway scene looks intense. I really like they the focus of this trailer was not Godzilla, but people reacting to a situation that arises from Godzilla.

Having seen both Comic Con teasers, this is 100% legit footage. Incomplete for sure but the scenes are real. They showed just the start of the Halo Jump and I do not remember them having the red smoke rendered at that point. They also didn't have that speech in it. The explosion out of the airport window, and other scenes like the FEMA shelter were in it as well.

Basically, remove the teaser 1 footage, take the rest outside of the extended drop scene and then add bits of the airport battle at the end and you have teaser 2.

I can't wait!!!

I managed to catch it this morning and damn I'm more excited now than I was when the first trailer leaked.....this movie could potentially be a Kaiju masterpiece....

Since this trailer is apparently more or less finished, I wonder if we'll be seeing the trailer attached to something before the Hobbit? (I mean, my only reason for expecting it with Desolation of Smaug is that Pacific Rim was attached to An Unexpected Journey).

Neat stuff, though the quality probably takes stuff away and doesn't quite make it as cool as the mood piece. Then again, this is clearly meant to intrigue people not in the know (which I guess could be said about most movie trailers really) and I like that there's a slow build to Godzilla that allows the audience to get pulled in by the visuals of destruction and drama before dropping the fact that it's a Godzilla film so people don't write it off immediately.

EDIT: Saw it, pity it's such poor quality, but it doesn't make me any less excited... this is going to be AMAZING!

Watched it this morning (by luck happened to check my Facebook page before leaving the house).
Fantastic, though I was assuming this was the 2013 Comic-Con trailer with the Clover-Kumonga creature and Godzilla's foot.

Regardless, the buildup is great, and this really has the feel of something with a lot of true gravity and drama, not just some typical blockbuster trailer exaggerated suspense. The soldiers jumping out of the plane (was that a practical, live stunt?!) and the shots underground really felt like I was watching a trailer to a Tom Clancy movie. And then Godzilla appears.

That was pretty cool, even though you couldn't see it very well. Can't wait to see something on the big screen.

And if someone thinks those clips of the actors are from other movies, do us a favor: do some research and find out what movies they're from. I think it's actual footage.
