I thought Gamera was 80 meters tall in the new trilogy...

The only constraint to Godzilla's size before was the issue of the detail of the miniatures. That's no longer and issue.

It's an easy mistake. They say his shell is 60 meters long in GOTU...and Gamera was 60 meters tall in the Showa series I believe. My personal favorite size for kaiju are in the 80 meter range (Pac Rim's kaiju were in this scale too).

I deff wouldn't want Godzilla to be any bigger than he is in the leaked trailer. He's almost TOO big...almost.

I thought the miniature work in the Gamera trilogy, and in Return of Godzilla were particularly great. Especially the Shinjuku models in RoG. It isn't just the models though. Higuchi and Nakano knew which angles to have the cameras film.

And as for Final Wars, I don't even think the budget was properly placed for the miniatures either. If they were we'd get something closer to the Heisei Gamera films or Return of Godzilla.

What an epic teaser.. So eerie.. almost demonic especially with the voiceover.. Also, many thanks to those of you who reuploaded once Warner Bros caught on..

I have a question regarding the dead insect lizard thing.... is that the same creature from the newest teaser as well.. or are they two different creatures? Really a question for the people that have seen both. If we all found this trailer to be awesome... I can't wait to see that one too.

Has it been confirmed that Legendary will be taking the Godzilla rights with them to Universal after this movie? A potential sequel might end up being a solely Warner Bros. production, and if that's the case, WB would have no reason to fudge the distribution and marketing for this film.

I'd definitely prefer it if the rights stayed with Legendary. They seem to know what they're doing as a production company.

^I don't know if that can happen - I was under the impression that it's Legendary that has the Godzilla rights, and WB was just co-financing and releasing this movie.

It made it to the WSJ. They claim WB had no comment on it..

No way Legendary should be doing any sort of MARKETING PUSH for this movie.

A teaser that gets the hardcore fans jacked (like what we now have) is more than enough at this stage of the game. If people are concerned about Godzilla not getting a push, they need to take a breath, step back and realize that NONE of the following films have had any official teasers released:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 4/4/2014
Stretch Armstrong - 4/11/2014
Transcendence - 4/18/2014
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 5/2/2014
X-Men: Days of Future Past - 5/23/2014.

In getting anything from Godzilla of such spectacular quality as that teaser and not some sh*tty handheld cam recording, Godzilla is WAY ahead of these other films for marketing push, especially now that it's in the WSJ and is becoming a legitimate news story...

BESIDES WHICH, the 'front' of the video may be "I want Godzilla to be marketed so it doesn't fail," but the real reason is "I want to see Godzilla marketing for me, because I feel I deserve it."
