I kinda see what you're saying, I just think you're being a bit hyperbolic. You might not like the gills or the suggestions in this thread here, but they are all things that I think could be added to Godzilla without him losing his core features.

Webbed feet would actually tie into your argument about why he SHOUDLN'T have gills (that "reptiles don't have gills")- they DO have webbed feet... so I think it stands to reason that if Godzilla shouldn't have gills because it isn't right for an aquatic reptile, him having webbed feet WOULD be ok. Same goes for the second set of eyelids.

And the gills, we've been through a million times by now.

There's nothing wrong with disliking the gills or any of these things, that's totally OK. I think the jump to "its just like Abe Sapien" is where you are starting to lose people.

I think the gills are fine as long as there isn't a lengthy conversation about them and their function in the film.

I think i'll still go by what we saw from the Godzilla Encounter. This is just a poster version. Still may be incomplete and changes can still happen between now and then.

We're not even 100% sure those are actually gills. They could very well be just scales, or even removed from the FINAL final design (lol).

Whatever they are, they dont bother me.

The fact that Godzilla appears to be growing a mirror out of his neck.
