Heeeeeeeere's GODZILLA!!!

You know, to think of it, almost every Godzilla design has its imperfections one way or another. Even the best of them had flaws that were easy to single out depending on the angle. I remember how mixed I was when I first saw G'84 with it's "visor brow" that seemed totally awkward from the front or the "cone head" feature on G'89 or having three(?!) rows of plates equal size instead of one dominant row. How about the curled upper lip feature starting with G'73 or changing the whole design just to look more Tyrannosaurus Rex for G'62 to fight Kong which looked great at some angles, lousy at others. How about the "ping pong" ball eyes of G'54 or the "beer gut" of G'2001 or the "Gonzo snout" of G'2002. Point is, everyone has their "perfect" Godzilla design at heart but none are truly perfect. The one true screw up happened in '98 because it simply was not Godzilla. However, in every film before and since, we were always sure what we were watching. I see no change in that regard with the upcoming film.

Well, I was making more of a comment about "Gorilla-Whale" than anything.

However, if those things on his neck are actually gills, and not just different looking scales, then maybe they have another use besides just allowing him to breathe underwater; could they be a part of a system to do with his radioactive breath, like cooling vents for instance?

I always wondered why Godzilla spends most of his time underwater when he's generally considered to be mutated from a land based dinosaur; does he dwell in the sea for biological reasons to do with his radioactive nature?

Assuming the movie doesn't blow donkey chunks, I say he is a new addition to the family of Godzilla designs. It feels Tohoish with a little modernization. Amen.

See, this is what happens. Now people feel they need to defend themselves about their ongoing conversation. Then it gets snarky, the actual topic gets derailed and goes rapidly downhill into a big ball of arguing. And being defensive and arguing is not what we're here for.

So here's the moral to this story: You want to complain about spamming a bunch of GIFs, go ahead, but don't look for trouble where there is none.
