The Pacific Rim kaiju look like every other CGI creature that appeared in American films for the past few years. Dark, over-textured, no real personality...just big, stupid beasts waiting to be destroyed somehow. They're lacking what makes Japanese monsters so appealing, and I'm positive this type of design aesthetic is going to infest LP's Godzilla film, no matter how authentic Takarada says it looks.

I think they're a nice compromise between the modern American CGI beast and the suitmation creations of the East. I mean, as much as I would love to see a Doragory or an Aribunta or an Astromons, that's asking for a bit much from a film like this. :lol:

I dig 'em well enough.
