It seems to me that Godzilla will go for the more grounded, 'realistic' giant monsters while we'll get tons of crazy super-monster vs. super-robot stuff in Pacific Rim - so I'm happy to be getting stuff from both angles.

As for colorful and campy; yeah, probably box-office poison, but it's always a boon when a good film of that type gets through the lines (Speed Racer!).

A little off topic but after watching Edward's movie, Monsters, I was in the mood to work on a little project that I just finished a few moments ago. Here is my fan trailer for the new G movie. Took me about 6 hours to put together but I think it came out nice.

My gut has a feeling that a similar octopus monster and an incarnation of Hedorah may appear in the new movie which is why I included them in my vision of the trailer.

As far as the score, it's a shame John Barry has passed away...I would have loved to hear his take on famous Ifukube pieces.

From the current crop of composers...not really sure, as I'm not really a big fan of any Hollywood composer at the moment. Of course, John Williams would be awesome, but that's not happening. Realistically, I suppose Howard Shore or James Newton Howard would be *ok*...

If I could pick, I'd pick Giacchino, Howard Shore or Bear McCreary.

I'm gonna throw a curveball and say I'd like John Murphy to get nominated.

Upon further consideration, Bear McCreary would be my #1, THEN Giacchino.

McCreary's work on The Walking Dead is especially fantastic.

Always felt Metallica's Call of Ktulu would be perfect for the Genre...
