I recently rewatched Daredevil for the first time in about eight years and it was my first time seeing the director's cut. I liked it when I saw it in the theater in 8th grade and the wave of live-action superhero films was just taking off, but seeing it now, it's really bad, and the director's cut just makes it worse. The one improvement is that the scenes pertaining to the subplot with Coolio's character include showing how Foggy discovers that Wilson Fisk is the Kingpin. That entire subplot was removed from the theatrical version so the ending with the police coming for Fisk didn't make sense. Still, the director's cut adds a lot of really dumb and unnecessary character moments, like Fisk killing his own security guards for no other reason than because he's the bad guy, and the whole thing is just a longer and more grueling viewing experience.
