As we get closer to the release of the upcoming Godzilla reboot, this board is going to continue to see a spike in new user registration. While our little community's continued growth is an inherently good thing, it's going to require more frequent moderation and regulation than what we've been used to for most of the past ten years while Godzilla has been on hiatus. A sizable chunk of new users are going to be teenagers and preteens and we all know that will inevitably lead to an increase in derailed discussions, bickering, trolling, and general spam. It's no secret that this has already started taking place in recent months and it's only going to get worse from here.
Monster Zero has nine administrators with the ability to ban users (kinggoji, kpa, The Gene Lantern, obert22, Xenorama, bigknif, Robert Saint John, Jim Ballard, and Shonokin), which I think is plenty, but it's clear that none of them are online as regularly as many of the board's active users. I believe what MZ needs is a few regular users as designated moderators with the authority to keep discussions in line, lock/unlock threads, delete spam, deliver warnings to troublemakers, and request administrative action when it's clear that a user needs to be banned. I think that's exactly what we need to prevent things from getting out of hand and to maintain the quality of the board as May 16 draws ever nearer.
I still second what king_ghidorah suggested in his original post. I think MekaGojira3k, MouthForWar, and kiryugoji04 would make great mods if they wanted to take on the task.
