Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

Mouth, wonderful post as always my friend. I'll concede the fact that sickos are in every fandom, BUT I do think the horror community attracts probably more than any other.

I mean, there are even sickos in the My Little Pony community apparently.

But if you took a random sampling of horror fans and something like Star Trek...I think you'd find more sickos in the horror community.

I don't know about "sickos" but you definitely see more people who enjoy on-screen violence or enjoy a movie that is gory BECAUSE its gory (as opposed to say, enjoying it because it also happens to be a good film). Depending on the person, that could be considered sick, I guess.

In terms of just weird/awkward people though, I think the horror community has as many as any other fanbase.

Like this guy, whose Youtube videos are so uncomfortable that I can't help but laugh my ass off.

I love the way he holds up the DVDs and how many awkward silences and stutters there are.

He basically looks like someone off camera has a gun to him.

Went Christmas shopping yesterday to pick up *one* thing and ended up picking up a bunch of stuff for myself.

Superman the Movie / Superman II Richard Donner Cut / Superman Returns triple feature bluray set for $10. I already own all of these movies, but not all on bluray. This has always been the nonofficial official Superman trilogy for me, and it was hard to pass up for 10 bucks.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure dvd for $4. Found Big Top Pee Wee for $4 about a year ago, only fitting I should have the better original. Actively looking forward to watching this again.

X-men First Class bluray for $15. This has been on my get list for a long time, but never got around to actually buying it.

Wrath of the Titans 3d bluray for $15. I also bought Clash of the Titans 3d for $20 last week. I don't expect Clash to be great, and I'm expecting Wrath to probably stink, but these are pretty cheap for 3d movies. I'm sure they'll at least have a few cool scenes to enjoy on my 3dtv.

Bought the Rocky Collection on blu ray for less than 20 bucks on Amazon. These are the films that inspired me to start working out in high school. I was a fat, fat kid. Lost nearly 70 lbs once I started working out and boxing and I owe it, in part, to the Rocky films and to Bruce Lee.

Oh, not a movie per say...but I bought the book, "Dan O'Bannon's Guide to Screenplay Writing." I love Dan O'Bannon's no nonsense philosophy. He's not like most artists...he had a very, workman-like quaity to him ala John Carpenter and Jack Arnold.

Best Buy has Doctor Who series 5 and 6 on Blu-Ray for $19.99 each. I got both. Already had 5 on DVD and always regretted it because I got my Blu-Ray player like a month later!
