Harvey

One of my favorite movies. Just a wonderful film, everything about it is wonderful.

What is it about rabbits? Br'er Rabbit, Pooh's friend Rabbit, Peter Rabbit, Bugs Bunny, Watership Down, Frank from Donnie Darko, the Easter Bunny, the Night of the Lepus, Miyamoto Usagi, and of course there's the rabbit on the face of the moon (go outside and look up, if you don't believe me)...

Went to visit my parents last week & they invited me to see Trouble With The Curve.

Pretty good movie, a bit about baseball, a bit about older parents & middle aged peoples relationships, and of course the rather nice looking Amy Adams in her underwear...

Goon
Amazing movie. Not a fan of sports movies but this one pulled everything off well.

I think the Bram Stoker's Dracula may have been my favorite when I was younger. It's been years since I've seen it, so that may have changed drastically.

Daimajin Strikes Again

You know, the first film is certainly the best - but (and I mean this in a good way) they all blend together and you sorta mix and match your favorite bits in your head. For instance, I consider the constant and consistent Majin footsteps (spottily used in the first film) and the Majin theme Ifukube comes up with in the second film to be definitive aspects of the character. I saw the second film first, so I was actually disappointed when I watched the original and found these things lacking!

Anyway, in movie three we have some of the most gorgeous location footage in the series. The kid main characters mostly work. Sometimes the limited range on some of the kids (mainly the youngest) takes me out of the film, but I think they pull it off more often then they fail. Daimajin also seems more animated in this one, no?

First I watched John Carpenter's The Thing, which I don't think I need to express how much I love this movie anymore. Amazing pacing, suspense, you can feel the paranoia, and it is great.

And then I watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I love this movie a lot. It has some really bad editing and green screen effects, but the score, plot, and action scenes in the snow are just absolutely wonderful to watch. I also think Tracy is a great Bond girl as she can handle her own fine for the most part. Blofeld is also a much bigger improvement over his previous incarnation. I'm not exactly sure why they changed actors for him, but I am glad they did because this guy was actually threatening. Not to mention he was willing to do things himself. However, I find that the ending is pretty abrupt, especially since Diamonds Are Forever changes Blofeld's actor again.
