Sounds like it could be interesting -- I hope the show hasn't limited itself too much by having Korra only need to learn Air Bending. Not quite sure what to think about the "steampunk" angle -- as long overall design isn't too far removed from the original series it should be good.

To be really honest though, I had hoped we might see an animated movie by now that takes place sometime after the first series while Aang is still the Avatar. Just an idea -- something like "The Search for Shambhala/Shangri-La" -- Aang learns of a hidden Airbender city where many of the Airbenders fled to and goes off in search of it.

Well I can honestly say I really enjoyed the pilot episode. Great animation, interesting characters, and a new world that still keeps the flavor of the original series. I'm looking forward to seeing where the writers go with the story. :)

I liked the first two episode we were able to see on the 14th -- it looks like LoK will be a great successor to the original show.

Was anyone else interesed in Katara telling her grandaughter what happened to Zuko's mother? So many stories to tell in between A:LAB and LoK I hope there'll be a telemovie or two to cover part of the period.

I just finished watching episode 3 (had it recorded). Wow, great new episode -- I can't wait to watch the rest of the season.

Did anyone else catch that the elder brother and Captain of the Fire Ferrets is named in honor of the late Mako Iwamatsu?

You may know Mako from his work as the voices of:

Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness in Samurai jack

Or as Iroh -- uncle to Prince Zuko in Avatar: The Last Air Bender

Also, I believe I have a good idea as to the identity of Amon, leader of the Equalists. Not the specific "who" -- but the masked individual's history. Recall in the final episodes of Avatar: The Last Air Bender, that Aang used engergy/spirit bending to remove Fire Lord Ozai's fire bending. Ozai is last seen in a prison cell.

I think Amon, is a descendant of Ozai, perhaps through Azula or through a third child born after the first series, it depends on whether Amon proves to be a fire bender or not. My speculated course of events is that Ozai gains his freedom from the prison cell in which he is last seen, perhaps Ozai convinces everyone he has changed his ways or maybe he escapes. However Ozai gains his freedom he always remembers that Aang was able to take away his fire bending. Ozai then sets out to learn how Aang removed his fire bending, something which probably takes years, and ultimately teaches the abilities to his heir (in whom Ozai also entrusts his revenge).

Ozai's quest for revenge may have started just with the Avatar, but over the course of his imprisonment and search for how his bending was taken away Ozai could have set on a course of revenge against all benders. Maybe with a long term goal of Ozai's heir, and select followers, being one of the only benders if the heir is descended from Azula.

After today's episode I have a couple ideas to add to my identity of Amon theory.

First, could Tarrlok be Amon? Not much to support the idea yet, but Tarrlok's rush to extremes (curfews for non-benders, etc.) could part of a plan to build support for the Amon. Or Tarrlok could simply be interested in power and is playing into Amon's hands.

Also, the thought occured to me on seeing Tarrlok blood bend without a full moon.

We know that Aang used energy bending to strip Ozai of his fire bending. If energy bending can remove elemental bending from a person, then perhaps it could be used to give someone elemental bending, perhaps energy bending could even be used to heighten/improve a person's bending power to their maximum potential. If Ozai learned how to energy bend (check out my previous post for my thoughts on this in detail), then perhaps Ozai granted his heir elemental bending besides teaching them to energy bend.

Just a couple ideas that occured to me, it's going to be very interesting seeing how everything plays out in the show.

Well he wasn't Tarrlok. Also, the finale is soonish and looks appropriately epic. I loved the Aang flashbacks in this episode, especially Sokka mentioning his boomerange  I really love this show, and I REALLLY love the music and animation.

I missed last weeks episode and had to wait until today to record & watch the repeat and catch-up.

The writers are doing a great job of keeping viewers guessing. I can't wait to see what will happen and what will be revealed in the finale.

This was a great episode, but I can't wait to see this finale. Looks epic. I think it'll further cement the fact that I love this more than the original series.
